Fuji music, a genre deeply rooted in Nigerian culture, has a unique and passionate fan base. As the CEO of Arems Entertainment, I’ve observed an intriguing pattern among Fuji fans: they often appreciate multiple artists across the genre, yet their loyalty is frequently tied to the distinct personalities of individual artists. This article aims to delve into the dynamics of Fuji music fandom, the influence of artist personality on fan loyalty, and the crucial role of artist-client relationships in the industry’s success.

Understanding Fuji Music Fans :

Fuji music enthusiasts often enjoy the works of various artists like K-1, Aare Sir Shina Akanni, Saheed Osupa, Adewale Ayuba, Sefiu Alao (Baba Oko), Rasheed Ayinde, Obesere, Pasuma, Malaika, Atawewe, Taye Currency, Genius Muri Alabi Thunder, Igwe Remi Aluko, Queen Tosin Eniba and others. However, the degree of loyalty each fan feels toward an artist can vary significantly. For example, a die-hard fan of K-1 De Ultimate might attribute 50% of their love for Fuji music to him, while distributing the remaining 50% among other artists. This isn’t to say they dislike other Fuji musicians; rather, they resonate more with the unique traits or character of their preferred artist. This affinity could stem from a personal interaction, shared values, or simply a deep appreciation for the artist’s style.

The Two Types of Fans ;

Fuji artists generally attract two types of fans: “true fans” and “eye service fans.” True fans are those who can engage the artist with honesty, offering constructive criticism when necessary. They are invaluable as they help the artist grow and remain grounded. On the other hand, eye service fans see the artist as infallible, always right, even when the artist is clearly wrong. This group often includes band members or workers who, for fear of losing their positions, avoid speaking the truth. The presence of eye service fans can be detrimental, as it fosters a culture where the artist is insulated from reality, potentially leading to arrogance and a disconnect from their audience.

Artist Personality And Industry Success :

The longevity and relevance of Fuji artists in the industry often hinge on their ability to accept feedback and remain humble. Artists who continue to thrive are typically those who listen to constructive criticism and value the opinions of those around them. They understand that, regardless of their fame, they are still human and can always improve. Conversely, artists who become too proud and refuse to heed advice often find themselves struggling to maintain their position.

The Importance of Artist-Client Relationships :

Another crucial aspect of an artist’s career is their relationship with clients and promoters. It’s not uncommon for Fuji artists to focus solely on their performance fees, neglecting the importance of building rapport with their clients. This approach can be short-sighted. When artists show genuine interest in the success of an event, by, for example, creating promotional audio jingles or video posts, they not only enhance the event’s chances of success but also build goodwill with the client. Such actions often result in repeat bookings and a positive reputation within the industry.

Unfortunately, some artists demand additional fees for promotional activities, which can deter clients from working with them again. The reluctance to support event promotion without extra charges can be a major reason why some artists receive fewer bookings than others. Artists who go the extra mile, even without immediate financial compensation, often find themselves more in demand and build stronger, more lasting careers.

Conclusion :

In summary, the world of Fuji music is as much about personal connections and relationships as it is about musical talent. Fans gravitate towards artists whose personalities they resonate with, while the success and longevity of an artist’s career often depend on their ability to stay humble and receptive to feedback. Moreover, artists who prioritize their clients’ success and actively participate in event promotion tend to enjoy more consistent bookings and a better industry reputation. This article serves as a guide for both established and upcoming Fuji artists, offering insights into the dynamics that can make or break a career in this vibrant genre.

By understanding these nuances, Fuji artists can navigate their careers more effectively, ensuring they remain relevant and cherished by their fans for years to come.

When you get your visa…

Have enough money that can sustain you for, at least, 2 weeks before you move. Because, it’s not always easy to get a job in a new country. You don’t know how the system works and will be discomforted for a while. So prepare well.

If you meet people from your country, they will be more than willing to help you settle down. But they will disappear if you can’t even pay for your meals.

Nobody abroad needs more bills and extra luggage. They have plenty headache already, don’t add to it. Come prepared.

If you’re going on a student visa, use LinkedIn to look up other international students in the school and people living around that town… contact them and ask relevant questions.

You can also contact the office of international student affairs in the school and request them to connect you with other students from your home country.

The people you meet first when you enter a country matters a lot. Be careful the details and private information you share. Be open so people can relate with you but be smart.

Be prepared to learn and unlearn. Some of the things you value in your home country is nothing abroad, and vice versa.

Land in a popular airport if it’s your first time. You may have a connecting flight to airport closest to your destination, but it’s better to land in a popular airport.

Port of Entry is where your fate will be decided. Your visa is just valid for you to get to that port of entry.

Carry African food. Don’t worry about rice and noodles , you will find them abroad.

Accomodation. If possible, sort it before moving. But you can sleep in hotels for a few days as you look for a place. Be sure about where you will sleep that first day of arrival.

Agents or your friend that said they would pick you from the airport may switch off their phones when you land or they’re busy, so plan for that emergency.

I wish you good luck in your travels. ✅🍀

If you find this post interesting, shārè so others can learn.

Mr Woodberry sentenced to eight years imprisonment in US, to be deported to Nigeria

Mr Woodberry sentenced to eight years imprisonment in US, to be deported to Nigeria
A United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, has sentenced Olalekan Jacob Ponle, a.ka. Mr Woodberry, to eight years and three months in prison for multimillion-dollar fraud.

A federal judge, Robert Gettleman convicted Ponle on July 11, and he is to be deported to Nigeria after serving his jail term, according to court documents.

“The defendant is hereby committed to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons to be imprisoned for a total term of 100 months as to count,” Gettleman said.

Mr Woodberry sentenced to eight years imprisonment in US, to be deported to Nigeria

Mr Woodberry was sentenced after being found guilty of one count of fraud. Seven other counts were dismissed following a plea bargain in April this year.

The judge ordered the convict to submit himself to the U.S. Marshal Service for onward transfer to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, where he would be allowed visit from family members, especially his American fiancĂŠe.

Gettlemen also ordered that Ponle be “surrendered to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody for deportation immediately following his incarceration”.

It may be recalled that Ponle settled for a plea deal with the United States, agreeing to surrender $8 million in proceeds of wire fraud.

He also agreed to forfeit his luxury cars and watches to the foreign government. The Instagram big boy was charged with wire fraud conspiracy following his arrest in the United Arab Emirates in June 2020 and subsequent extradition to the US.

Woodberry was accused of tricking American companies into sending wire transfers worth millions of dollars. Woodberry allegedly targeted firms in California, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan and New York, according to prosecutors.

The socialite, who is an associate of notorious fraudster, Hushpuppi, had in the year of his arrest pleaded not guilty to the eight-count charge brought against him.

“Defendant understands that by pleading guilty, he will subject to forfeiture to the United States all right, title, and interest that he has in any property constituting or derived from proceeds obtained, directly or indirectly, as a result of the offence,” read the document containing Ponle’s signed plea declaration.

Ladoja shuns coronation as Makinde presents staff of office to 10 Ibadan Obas.
Former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja was absent at the ancient Mapo Hall on Friday where the Governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, presented staff of office to ten Ibadan high chiefs elevated to status of Obas.
Recall that Governor Seyi Makinde recently signed into law the Chieftaincy Amendment Bill that granted him autonomy to present beaded crowns and coronets to Olubadan-in-council in the state.
Tribune Online reports that Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, had recommended elevation of his 11 high chiefs which include Ladoja, to the status of Obas and approved by the governor.

Ladoja, 10 other Ibadan high chiefs to become kings Friday
Olubadan, in a statement through his media assistant, Oladele Ogunsola, on Thursday, had declared that his eleven traditional advisory councils have ceased to be addressed as High Chiefs but Obas following their elevation to wear beaded crown and scheduled presentation of staff Friday.
But out of 11 High Chiefs, ten new Obas present to receive staff of office at the event are: Owolabi Olakulehin; Tajudeen Ajibola; Eddy Oyewole; Lateef Adebimpe; Biodun Kola-Daisi; Kola Adegbola; Hamidu Ajibade; Olubunmi Isioye; Bayo Akande and Abiodun Azeez while Ladoja was absent.
Meanwhile, Ladoja had earlier rejected the governor’s elevation of the Ibadan high chiefs to Obas, stating that the only crown he wanted was that of Olubadan.
The Ọtun Olubadan said this while speaking at his Bodija residence on June 28, shortly after observing Eid prayers at the University of Ibadan (UI) Muslim praying ground.
“Nothing has changed, you don’t mend what is not broken, it is not fair to elevate high chiefs to Obas, my focus is to become Olubadan, no lesser Oba.”
“I don’t think it is fair to have high chiefs as obas. Who are you competing with? It is not in our tradition.”
“Ladoja is not interested in wearing an elevated crown,” he said.
