I’ve noticed a general uptick in rude, unnecessary, and trollish comments over the last week or so. Not sure if it is holiday season burnout starting already, or the cold weather making people grumpy, but this is a reminder that my channel is, and always has been, place for positivity, where we support each other. I will not be publishing your snarky comments, especially if you include profanity as my children like to revisit my channel to watch our family adventures.
If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say it at all, and definitely don’t expect to get it published in my comments section. That is all.

Barcelona was amazing! On our last night there we went to a luxurious party at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and then at the Poble Espanyol. The views were amazing, the table settings elegant, and the opera performance was the icing on the cake! I am so spoiled, and I cannot wait to start making videos of our adventures. ❤️🇪🇸💃🏾

The sky is alight tonight with a solar flare. The Northern Lights over my backyard are beautiful. (And my camera sucks at night photos, so imagine how much more amazing it is in real life!)

I know my channel is MOSTLY about travel and escape rooms (travel and adventure! LOL), but we are about to undergo a giant backyard renovation thanks to my destructive puppy eating and basically ruining the garden I spent 4 years building up after we moved to our new house. It's going to be quite the change (at least, my vision is very different from reality at the moment) and I was wondering if I should make a video about the process. It's not the usual vlog content I'd make, but it might be helpful for someone out there having the same issues with pets in the yard as we are.
What do you think? To garden vlog or not to garden vlog?

Yesterday I finalized plans for our trip to Spain in November! I'm very excited for a big adventure with my husband and some friends. We'll be hopping from Barcelona to Malaga to AFRICA (Tangiers) to London to Shaftesbury and then home. It will be a whirlwind but I'm very excited and cannot wait to share our journey with you all!

Merry Christmas everyone!! It's nearly the end of 2022, and with that, time for some big changes and New Years Resolutions. If you are reading this, you may have noticed a slight change in my branding. It's all part of my 2023 vision!
This last year has been a real struggle to come up with travel-related video ideas and keep regular content coming. I have not been traveling, I am (at the moment) very untrusting of airlines and hesitant to book with any of them right now, and the cost of living and inflation makes traveling with a family of four rather difficult as well. So what is a girl who runs a travel-focused YouTube channel to do? Quit and close up the channel? Start fresh? Or pivot?
I don't want to quit. I enjoy making videos and sharing things with the world.
I don't want to start fresh. I have made so many incredible creator friends and gained some truly awesome subscribers through this channel - I don't want to just throw all of that away.
So I'm going to pivot. I've already noticed that my escape room videos get fantastic views, and my tech review videos get a lot of interest too. Which tells me I DON'T have to just stick to travel-related videos here. Instead of burning myself out making joyless videos about travel stuff when I'm not actually traveling, I can make videos about life. Because life is indeed an adventure too!
So please stick with me and don't un-subscribe just because my banner changed and I'm branching out a bit more away from travel stuff. When I do go traveling, you can be guaranteed I'll still be making travel videos! But I'll also make more escape room videos. I will also share some of my other hobbies with you - I love to make wine and I can teach you how. I love to garden - both inside and outside - so I can share my plant knowledge. I need to shape up and lose that COVID weight - I can share my journey here too. Hopefully these ideas will help me post more regularly in 2023 and re-energize my love for creating.

Welcome to "Down the Wrabbit Hole", a place where you can come learn about traveling, DIY escape room games and puzzles, and other avenues of my life! My name is Marti, and I recently shifted this channel from focusing on travel and exploration to more all-encompassing aspects of my life. Since the pandemic and the consequent downfall of most airlines, I haven't traveled much... but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!
Starting in 2023, I hope to post more regularly without the constriction of keeping videos all travel-related. I'd love to share my other hobbies, talents, and interests with you - including lots more escape room games and ideas. I also make wine, do crafts, love interior decorating and cleaning, am an obsessive organizer, and am trying to get healthier - all things I can share here.
