Next week is the Fourth of July and party prep is underway. My Blackstone Griddle was in really bad shape but with some elbow grease and a multi- step cleaning process, I was able to restore, clean, and season the griddle back to life. Let me know if you have cleaned your griddle and if you did it the same or differently than me.
When we bought this house, I looked at this awning and my first thought was that this thing is coming down. Now that the warm weather is here and we have 3 little kids, it has been great for keeping them in the shade. We use it daily and it's in great condition. I'm now reconsidering what to do with my deck.
What would you do? Keep it or do something different?
My last two videos were about replacing parts of an exterior door. I replaced the threshold, added new weather stripping, fixed the catch so the latch would work properly, and also added some tapcons and silicone where it was needed. By doing these repairs, I did save a good amount of money so I do think it was worth the effort.
Question: What would you have done?
Trying to have a green thumb this year but I'm not sure about it quite yet. In the mini greenhouse, I have some basil, oregano, spinach, and cilantro. In the garden, I have some cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, strawberries, and a pumpkin in the middle. I had two strawberries that were almost ready to be picked and of course an animal ate them.
Long story short, all tips are welcomed to this new hobby of mine! 😁
Channel Update!
In the next few weeks/months I am planning on posting as normal, every single week! Most of the videos you see will be smaller home repair videos. I have lot's of little projects to do this summer that I think will make for some really great content, content that I believe will be helpful and entertaining for you.
You might be thinking, but Matt, where are the huge remodels? Why haven't you done a new kitchen or added a new room yet? Great question! This home is going to be our forever home so we don't want to make these big decisions without living in it for some time. Yes, we have a huge list of things(1st floor all hardwood, new office space, updated bathrooms, kitchen, etc.) that we want to update and remodel but we don't want to jump into things too quickly, we need to figure out what we want/what is going to work for us.
If you have watched my latest house tour video and you have a suggestion or two of what I should do, leave a comment below! 😁
A few weeks ago, I asked everyone what an upcoming window video subject was going to be. A huge majority said 89%- all of the above but the winners are the 5%'ers- replacing window trim. Thanks for all of the votes!

I have been staring at this window sill for years but I knew once I fixed it, Koda would jump right back on it to say "hello" to the mailman. Now that we have moved, I was finally able to fix it! 😁

Need to build a shed and need some ideas of where to start? Here is a 5-minute time-lapse of the one I built a few years ago. If only the actual build time was this quick. 😂
