On this weeks episode of The Beyond Football Podcast we welcome our first female footballer for Season 2! 🎙️

Mackenzie Dickey is a fellow High Performance Sports Scolar at The University of East Lomdon. She grew up playing football in the states and is currently balancing studying her Masters in Sporting Directorship alongside playing for Dulwich Hamlet Women’s side.

Key Points:
• Mackenzie Dickey discusses balancing academics with her accidental football career, stressing education’s importance.
• She contrasts UK and US women’s football systems, highlighting extensive travel in the US.
• Mackenzie shares her struggle to balance academics and soccer in the US, where athletics often took precedence.
• She reflects on adapting to UK football culture, noting its emphasis on academics over athletics.
• Mackenzie emphasises discipline and time management, learned through juggling academics, social life, and football.
• She underscores faith’s role in her life, encouraging others to pursue their dreams while staying grounded.

From navigating recruitment challenges to finding resilience through faith, Mackenzie’s story is both inspiring and thought-provoking.

S2 EP 5 featuring the amazing @Josh Pask is Out Now.

Josh Pask is a professional footballer and founder/director of Pask’s Removals. Talk about going Beyond Football 😮‍💨

This one is not to be missed 🔥

Key Points Involve:
* The significance of diversifying income and activities beyond football.
* The value of starting a business while playing professional football.
* A detailed roadmap of founding and scaling @paskremovals to over £300k in revenue, leveraging transferable skills from football.
* His unwavering belief in Jesus Christ, finding solace and purpose irrespective of fan or managerial opinions.
* Some teammates regret not following his path, facing challenges in lower leagues without sustainable income.
* How his business revenue surpasses his football earnings.
* Insights into whether running his business has adversely affected his football performance.
* How he identified a problem and conceived a business idea parallel to his football career.
* Predictions on the evolving landscape of players engaging in ventures beyond football.
* His release from West Ham United FC at 21 led to hospitalisation due to challenges in coping with it.

I really enjoyed recording this episode. Here are a few key things I got from it:
▶️What do you have or even better, what have you built that will outlast your football career and beyond?
▶️Just get started with what you have at the time. Contrary to common opinion, sometimes it’s beneficial to be ignorant when getting into business- it allows you to take action and eliminates fear.
