"Hot Mess is an open, honest address to living closeted. The denial of lying to myself that I would be able to live the rest of my life hiding my true self and running from a small part of my life that I cannot change. But as time goes on, I felt my world starting to crash around me, the crushing realisation that if I tell my family about my sexuality I may hurt them but if I don't, I also realise that'll I'll never be happy and eventually die alone.
The track was a way of trying to exorcise the burden of feeling unable to really connect with anybody, in a relationship and even friendship, as I'll always have a wall up unless I give every single aspect of my whole being to everyone I want to stay in my life."

Our first song, "Chemicals" was about coping in an unhealthy way.
"Slip Away" is the natural progression of that. It's the next part of the story. It's losing yourself in your habits until you become unrecognizable. It's the pain when you come-to. It's self awareness and it's hurt.
"Slip Away" is struggle you face when you meet yourself where you're at. It's the pain when you look in the mirror honestly. It's a rude awakening.
When I wrote the video for "Slip Away", it was important to me I tell the story of the song, whereas "Chemicals" was more a day-in-the-life sort of video. You have this person, bound to the injured version of themselves... connected as one and confined to a space they can't escape. They separate and see their hurt before them. The bandages come off and it's loud, it's vulnerable... it's unpredictable. Only through acceptance and embrace can they find peace, but even still, in a space they'll never leave.

Since their formation in 2008, Norwegian punk rock/rock outfit Blood Command has been redefining boundaries within the alternative music scene. Led by guitarist and principal songwriter Yngve Andersen, the Bergen-based band has drawn widespread acclaim for their innovative sound and electrifying live performances.
The 2020 addition of fierce vocalist Nikki Brumen has amplified the bandâs intensity, enhancing their powerful messages of rebellion, individualism, and empowerment. Blood Commandâs albums, including Funeral Beach (2012) and Praise Armageddonism (2020), illustrate their ability to evolve while remaining rooted in their punk ethos. With a loyal fanbase across Europe and an unwavering touring schedule, Blood Command continues to push the limits of punk and hardcore.
Their latest single, "We Could Be Heaven," delivers a dark, pop-punk punch, exploring the cost of following oneâs heartâeven to oneâs demise. Following Resolveâs recent earth shaking single âMolotovâ which opened up their extended cut cycle in relentless fashion, the new single âSandmanâ showcases both Resolveâs haunting nature with its heavy and oppressive intro as well as their trademark emotive characters, running throughout its infectious chorus.
âSome months ago, Anthony (Resolve's lead singer and songwriter) went through an episode of sleep paralysis. If youâre lucky enough to have never experienced it, imagine waking up in the dead of night with a terrifying figure looking over you, and being unable to move or ask for helpâ, mentions Resolve bassist, Robin Mariat. âThe next day, Anthony came up with the demo for Sandman - originally named Sleep Paralysis. That probably explains the nightmarish vibe of the track. The choruses though, are epic and hopeful, a reminder that even in the darkest moments of our lives, there will always be something or someone to lift us up and bring us back into the light.â

Following the impactful anthems 'We Won't Sleep' & 'Swimming with Sharks' which captivated audiences with its intense lyrics and pulsating rhythms, Polar's latest track 'Unkillable' delves into themes of survival and resilience.
The lyrical concept for 'Unkillable' was born from a period of profound challenge and transformation for the band.
"We came up with the concept for 'Unkillable' when the band regrouped and became what Polar is today. There was an indestructible feeling amongst us, and we were all inspired by that feeling. This was one of the first songs we wrote together and lyrically, we wanted to convey this feeling of being indestructible. We all agreed on the title âUnkillableâ as we had survived death, and the band had returned with a newfound desire to live," shares Adam Woodford, Polar's vocalist.
In 2023, amidst significant lineup changes that led to the departure of several original members, founding vocalist Adam Woodford took the reins. Determined to turn adversity into opportunity, Woodford revitalized Polar by bringing on new members Stefan Whiting (bass), Bruno Consani (guitar), Simon Richardson (guitar), and Max Flohr (drums). This fresh lineup has injected new energy and perspective into the band, further amplifying the defiant and transformative message of 'Unkillable'!
