An aquamarine specimen with quartz is a beautiful and sought-after mineral combination in the world of gemstones and minerals. Aquamarine, a variety of beryl, is prized for its sea-blue color, which can range from pale to deep shades. When aquamarine crystals are found growing alongside quartz, either clear or milky, it creates an eye-catching contrast. The transparency and hardness of quartz complement the clarity and color of aquamarine, often creating stunning displays in natural formations.

These specimens are popular among collectors due to their aesthetic appeal and the metaphysical properties attributed to both minerals. Aquamarine is often associated with tranquility and communication, while quartz is considered a powerful amplifier of energy.

Do you want more specific details on this mineral pairing, or are you interested in its geological formation, metaphysical aspects, or its market value?

A Gwindel quartz crystal is a special variety of quartz characterized by its distinctive twisted or spiraled growth. The word "Gwindel" comes from the Swiss-German term for "twisted." These crystals are usually found in alpine regions, especially in the Swiss Alps, and are often associated with smoky quartz, although they can also appear in clear quartz.

Gwindel quartz crystals form in parallel clusters where the individual crystals are rotated or twisted around a common axis, creating a unique and aesthetically appealing structure. The twisting is believed to result from irregularities in the growth conditions, such as variations in temperature, pressure, or mineral content during crystallization.

These crystals are prized by collectors for their rarity, beauty, and the complexity of their formation. The twisting effect gives the crystal a dynamic appearance, and no two Gwindel crystals are exactly alike.

30,000 years ago, a Cro-Magnon healer could convince those around him that he had the power to transform an opaque stone into a transparent one, possessed the gift of foresight, and that his eye could explore the interior of matter, where malevolent spirits resided. He also claimed that the rock crystal he held in his hand was the proof.

During that era, medicine followed a shamanic conception, and interventions on the sick were carried out using a set of magical tools, with the transparent stone being part of this arsenal.
But what do we really know, you might ask? It is by referring to archaeology but also to ethnography within semi-nomadic ethnic groups still isolated from the modern world, in Oceania, Africa, and the Amazon basin, within tribes exhibiting a level of development similar to that of the Upper Paleolithic or the Neolithic, that we can formulate such assumptions.

I conduct conferences on the theme "The Search for Stones, the Oldest Profession in the World" and am available to speak at mineralogical events. 🙂www.instagram.com/christopheperay
