Check out our latest live online guitar jam / "noodling" sessions! We've been popping up live spontaneously so far, but plan on setting a permanent weekly date and time in the future. Join us as a "fly on the wall", or chime in with your thoughts, suggestions and comments. Enjoy! π€
In short, "Noodling" on guitar is freestyle, in the moment playing - where you explore seemingly random notes and rely more on trial and error and intuition rather than rigid musical systems and rules. So often, going outside one's comfort zone and exploring new musical paths can spark ideas you would have never thought of. It can stimulate your enquiring mind and exercise parts of the brain that would have otherwise been left dormant. We don't just want to repeat what we've heard or seen in a book or online, over and over again.

Welcome to Unhinged Music Reactions! This channel will show videos of two old musicians reacting to music they've never heard before.
Doug, a guitarist from Toronto, is a 60's/70's/80's rock guy who hasn't listened to much past the 80's.
Ed, a guitarist from Colorado, is also a classic rock guy that has started to delve into newer jam band music.
The two of us started Unhinged Podcast: Talking Mental, a podcast about mental health and depression specifically telling Doug's story of his battle with the disease. During that podcast, music therapy was discussed at length. After the podcast ended, we decided that our next project would be completely music related. This is Unhinged Music Reactions... music therapy for the soul.
