I have been making progress on the Ansty link suspension and taking videos, but I have given up video editing on my old PC as it is bang-my-head-off-the-wall slow. I'm shopping for my first new computer for me - not a hand me down or salvage - since the Tatung Einstein I bought on sale in 1985..... Here's some link plate bolts almost done.

At the very end of the parting yesterday there was a strong burning smell. I traced the source to the run capacitor on the motor. I replaced the start cap a while back. I have a new cap on order but it may be that this 24 year old abused motor is on its last legs. Which means a 3-phase and VFD upgrade project.

I did a stupid and gouged the cylinder quite badly. The gouge is 0.021 deep. I'll try filling it with solder and if that fails I'll try boring oversize 0.042. As a last resort I think PMR still do this part in bronze so I could order a replacement. What do you think I should do?
