HEED Bangladesh (Health, Education and Economic Development) is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to participate and promote national development through upgrading the socio-economic condition of the disadvantaged and underprivileged people in the society. It was founded in 1974 in response to the immediate post-war needs in Bangladesh by several Western partner organisations. After 40 years, the range and volume of activities of the organization have been expanded. Presently its development programs include health, formal and non-formal education, agriculture, aquaculture, livestock, advocacy, nutrition, capacity building, forestry, environmental and natural resource management, disaster management, hygiene education, socio-economic development of marginalized people etc. At present, there are more than 1700 staff, who are working in 32 districts of Bangladesh.
