For the Steam Gift Cards, remember to also be subscribed to the channel. The only ones that would participate in the random selection for the gift cards would be:
1. Subscribed Members
2. Members that left a comment on videos in the past 4 months (since the last random selection).
The Steam gift cards random selection will be done this Sunday, August 4th.

I just found out I can buy GIFT CARDS on Steam (I thought I could only gift games). After researching a bit more I also found out there are no country restrictions if I do the Gift Card idea. Which means, everybody that participates with comments or quoting the channel on youtube participates in a $100, $50 or $25 GIFT CARD prize during the months of July and August.
Pretty cool the Gift Card idea, did not know about it. Anyway, I will be creating the updated list for everyone that comments. Obviously they need to be subscribed so I can follow up on them if they win.

This weekend I will be addressing several questions and tendencies I have seen with Ubuntu 24.04, latest Kernel version, latest Proton and more. If you have any questions you would like to hear me talk about, please put them here so I can address them too during the talk.
All I can say is that 2024 is becoming the year of Linux really fast and based on the last 10+ games I have tested, it has blown my mind.

Tomorrow I will be publishing a video that took me a long time to do (Not to mention render the crap out of it, basically a 128GB video). The intent of the video is to show the current state of gaming on Linux, which will also show:
- Performance for 64 different games at 4K with Ultra Settings for all games.
- The fact that Linux supports latest hardware. In this particular case a 13900K, an Nvidia 4090, DDR5 with XMP, NVMe drives and more.
It will showcase the achievements for the past 15+ years in Linux gaming development, from Wine and Proton to DXVK and VKD3D. From groups like Codeweavers, to communities like Linux Gaming that have helped shape this road with a lot of effort, commitment and work. So thank you all and everyone involves that has made gaming on Linux a reality (Compared to 15 years ago where it was odd to see a AAA game on Linux, versus today).

Today after almost 4 consecutive days of testing (over 90 hours to say the least) I managed to use XMP at the advertised xmp speed of my ram which is 6000 Mhz. I will be creating a video about it to talk about the BIOS, settings for it and the gaming performance boost of jumping from the default of 4200 Mhz which wass being automatically selected by the Asus motherboard to the 6000 Mhz.
Why is this special to me. Because they are 4 rams of 32gb each one. So making 4 sticks play well with XMP is not easy. I tried to simplify the amount of parameters to use and ran memtest with all tests every time they changed.

For the upcoming Ubuntu 23.04, because of the way I will partition the nvme, I will only use on SN850X, the other one Wil be left out. In order to benchmark Ubuntu against another distro using the exact same hardware, which other distro should I be comparing Ubuntu against and what type of comparisons should we be doing between them.
Some ideas apart from the distro would be using open benchmarking from phoronix, steam games (which ones), rendering apps (unity, unigine, ue5, etc), benchmark tools (geekbench, gravitymark, openbenchmark) and anything else. Let me know in the comments so we can have some content for the new videos.
This is also not limited to one distro since I can partition again for any other distro, just want to know which ones to tackle and which tests to apply to them. Thank you.

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of content but I have been beta testing Ubuntu 23.04 for the last couple of weeks. Hence why there is no new content. Should all be good in about 2 weeks from now. Hope everyone is great and thinking positive as always.

Gaming on Linux is a channel that focuses on performance videos, comparisons between Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows, Proton compatibility, and general Linux gaming benchmarks. Suggestions are welcome to do tests for specific games.
The channel focuses on:
Performance benchmarks: Comparing frame rates and smoothness on Linux vs. Windows.
Proton testing: Running Windows games on Linux and optimizing performance.
Seeing the progress over time for specific games, along with the progress of Proton, Wine, Nvidia, Mesa and Ubuntu.
