We want justice for West Bengal. Shame on you, city of joy.
India has a diversity of religions, and all religions respect girls and women at a high level. Some religions say they are very precious, some say they are goddesses, and some say they are our first priority. Yet, animalistic behavior occurs in the name of religion.
My question to the West Bengal government and the Indian government is this: When will girls and women be able to go alone without fear on the streets, in offices, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, etc.?
I know of some cases where evidence was vanished by criminals, such as in the Porsche, Delhi, and Nirbhaya cases.
However, the August 9, 2024 case is truly horrific and terrifying. I am shocked that the place of joy has become a place of darkness.
Please, Indian brothers, be aware of your mothers and sisters. Not only your own mother and sister, but also any other girl and woman. It is our responsibility to keep them safe and secure.
My request to all girls and women: If you experience sexual harassment anywhere, including at home, educational institutions, workplaces, social gatherings, or even within your circle of friends, please inform your parents for your safety. If you live alone, can you inform a trusted friend or family member?
