Happy #NationalDogDay! 🐶

Our team of facility dogs spend their days providing emotional support, cuddles, and encouragement to our pediatric patients across UC Davis Children's Hospital! Our patients, faculty, and staff all benefit from the love, silliness, and joy Huggie, Paloma, ZeeBee, and Daniels bring with them to "work". 💙💛
Thank you to ‪@CanineCompanions‬for gifting us our loving facility dogs!

ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, slowly robbed Casey of his speech. But our researchers have restored his ability to communicate – in his own voice.

Sergey Stavisky and David Brandman’s team developed a new brain-computer interface (BCI). Now, electrodes implanted in Casey’s brain allow him to “speak” through a computer with the sounds of his own voice. Casey’s family can now communicate with their husband and father, who can continue to work as a climate activist.

See how it works in our latest video.
