10 years ago today since the famous loco in West Coast Railways steam fleet GWR hall 5972 Olton Hall or better known to her millions of fans around the world as 5972 Hogwarts Castle for Warner Brothers's production of Harry Potter.
When she made her last revenue earning mainline run working The Railway Touring Company's The Wizards Express from Carnforth to York & return via the little north western.
We were fortunate enough to be 1 of the lucky passengers to be on her last mainline run before retiring from operations.
Sadly though she didn't get the great send off that she deserved following lineside fires near Gargrave between Hellifield & Skipton.
Resulting in her fire being dropped for the very last time at The National Railway Museum in York instead of being back at the sheds at Carnforth 10A.
Since the ill fated farewell she was cosmetically restored & a fresh coat of Hogwarts lined red livery & sent to Warner Brothers studios at Watford for static display.
But her famous exploits in steam for the filmings of Harry Potter on The North Yorkshire Moors Railway & The West Highland line from Fort William to Mallaig will live on in the memory forever.
Here is yours truly with the famous loco herself during her penultimate day in revenue earning service at York prior to the return working of The Wizards Express.

No filming today. However we had a great time at Model Rail Scotland for the annual model rail exhibition.
It was great to catch up with our friends @NewJunction, @accurascaleuk1427 & @Sim0nTrains during our visit today.

Some of our close railway friends and followers have been asking me why I’m referring some locomotives 🚂 as he’s.
Well today we come clean about the hole thing.
Some will say oh Harnetty Railways thinks he still has brains 🧠 of being in the Rev W Awdry’s books 📚 of Thomas & Friends.
Well you are all wrong 😑. It’s our personal choice and will remain like 👍 that whether people like 👍 it or not.
Locomotives 🚂 with names like Sir Nigel Gresley, George Stephenson, Sir Keith Park, Eric Treacy, King 👑 Edward I and locos that has boys 👦 names within their nameplates like Bradley will always be known as he’s to us.
Engines like 👍 Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Sutherland & locos that has girls 👧 names like 👍 Hannah now they are known as she’s to us.
