Nancy Kerr is one of the most prolific songwriters in British folk music. She appears regularly on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 3. In 2015 she won BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year at the Folk Awards, adding to her multiple folk awards that include Best Album, Best Group, Best Duo and Horizon Award. She is best known for her solo work, her duo with James Fagan and previously with Eliza Carthy, and multiple collaborations including her trio with Martin Simpson and Andy Cutting, Melrose Quartet, The Full English, Luke Daniels, The Elizabethan Sessions, Shake the Chains and Sweet Liberties.
Nancy's songwriting is rooted in tradition but is informed by the modern world, nature, protest and empowerment.
