Morning, everybody! A quick update: Working on two videos here.
1) Worst Sega games - hoping to have that out in under a week.
2) A comprehensive, documentary-style review of the third generation of home consoles, featuring the NES, SG-1000/3000/Mark III, and more. That will take more time, but I've been working on it slowly for weeks. Hoping to get that out after the Worst Sega games video.
Happy gaming!

I wanted to take a moment to lift up the channel of @PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries, an amazing video game documentarian who did some incredible, in-depth histories on video games. Same genre as me...except that I should consider myself honored to be in the same genre as him.
As many of you may know, Patrick Davis - his real name - was a quad amputee with a series of health problems. He didn't let that stop him from producing world-class content for all of us.
Unfortunately, Patrick died last week, leaving a massive hole in the hearts of his friends and family. Please join me in sending all the love in the world to all of those whose life Patrick touched. I don't think there is a Gofundme or way to donate. To read more about Patrick's wonderful life and family, please visit his obituary: www.vanhoe.com/obituary/Patrick-Davis

Hey, Almost Friends! I wanted to let you all know that I am launching a new way to connect with all of you – and, more importantly, to give me a better chance to create the high quality content that you love. We’re kicking off channel memberships today. You can join by clicking on the join button.
First, the obvious: Don’t want to join? No worries at all! Nothing will change, and I’m going to keep cranking out the videos you folks like.
For those of you who do join, we’ve got two tiers: For $2.99 a month you can be an 8-Bit supporter, which allows you loyalty badges, emoji, priority replies, members-only chat, members-only polls, and more. For $6.99, you can be a 16-Bit supporter, which comes with everything at 8-Bits PLUS member shout outs in all videos.
The money will be reinvested in the channel in the form of better editing software, thumbnails, equipment, and videos. Some videos I’d like to do but I can’t because they would be demonetized, so being able to put those videos together would be awesome.
Most importantly: Regardless of if you join the channel, thank you so much for your support. This started as a random quest of mine and…well, became a part of my life I’ve really gotten to enjoy. Thanks so much, everyone, and if you support what I’m doing here, I hope you join as a member!
~Mike

Morning friends! A quick question for you: any interest in live streaming retro games? I got asked about this from time to time and I’m curious about the channels general feelings. Let me know when the time is below!

Hey folks! Currently working on a video on the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie, but alas, clips I had in the video were gobbled by YouTube Copyright Detection. Gonna have to rework it over the week, and it won't be ready tonight. Soon, I promise!

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...a new $330 SHURE MV7+ Microphone so my videos don't sound like crap anymore!!
(Seriously, I hope this makes a noticeable difference, and THANK YOU all for the kind suggestions to upgrade my microphone. Totally worth it from what I can tell!)

WOOHOO! Folks, this one took weeks to put together, and now I am so, so proud to share my labor of love: A 41 minute video that goes DEEP into the 1983 Video Game Crash. This was fascinating - I certainly learned a lot and I hope I upped my game for you all. Please check it out, and absolutely let me know what you think!! watch video on watch page

Morning, friends! I wanted to give a look at what's coming for the channel:
1) I'm working on a LONG and in-depth documentary on the great crash of 1983.
2) A look at seven games for the NES & SNES that still hold up really well today.
3) The Konami Code. Up, up, down, down....
It's wonderful to see so many people comment and participate...wish I had time to respond to you all! I am debating doing a channel membership, too. Honestly, there's more equipment I'd like to buy, and YouTube's ad revenue is...uhh, well, it fluctuates, despite views (economic cycles and all). Would love to know your thoughts and if you'd be interested!!
