In case you missed it and you are running the Nginx Proxy Manager, DON'T UPDATE until you understand that it will break your stuff. You WILL have to reconfigure everything. Don't update remotely or when you can't get to your HA instance via IP address. I am just the messenger here.

Security notice from Home Assistant on the new login page in version 2023.12. It has been disabled for now based on community feedback. Take a look at the blog post for more.

Finally got my Emporia VUE hooked back up in the new house. It is importing data into Home Assistant via the HACS integration and I am able to make pretty graphs in Grafana. Good insight into where my big power usage is.

Hello Everyone. One of the things I like about Home Assistant is LOCAL CONTROL of many of my devices without having to send things to the cloud or create an account to use them. HUE has been this way for a long time, but that is about to change. They are forcing users to create an account in the app to use devices. Please take a moment and let HUE know what you think of this.

Home Assistant has written a blog post here with more info:

Had every intention of releasing a video this week but 2 things happened. First, I think after 2 months, I've found the final water leak and repaired it. Second, the transducer that was the actual subject of the video seems to not work as it should. I was never able to get it to trigger properly. I've got a couple of a different version on order so I'll get it done.

Fell down a rather big rabbit hole trying to read my water and power meters locally. So far, no luck. The number one challenge is figuring out what frequency these things transmit on. They are in the ISM band but that's a large block to figure out when supposedly these meters transmit on random frequencies every once in awhile.

If I were to sell merch, would anyone be interested in it? It would probably start off with the usual stuff like shirts, mugs, (I love mugs) etc. If enough interest, could add other stuff.
