Nearly done with the next full recap from this spring with a few more to go after that, but I want to see if there is any additional content YOU want to see more of!
I want to create more forecasting content, and possibly even some educational content featuring discussions and explanations of forecasting, chasing, and weather phenomena.
Let me know in the poll below if any of these options are something you want to see more of. Or, if you want to see something not listed comment on this post!
8/29 6:30 EDT: Hurricane Idalia is now a Category 2 strength with surface winds up to 85 kts (97 MPH). Latest satellite data shows Idalia attempting to clear out its eye as it approaches the FL coast. Recon data also showing a central pressure of near if not just below 970 mb along with an increasingly symmetric wind field. We may be entering the beginning stages of rapid intensification.
A large severe weather outbreak is just now beginning in the Texas panhandle. A few supercell with enhanced tornado potential are expected especially south of I-40 before a large QLCS develops with the potential for strong damaging winds (80-110 MPH possible) and a few tornadoes. If you’re in Oklahoma, Kansas, or southwest Missouri make sure to keep an eye on the weather as these storms approach. Stay safe!
