Models are there...
Some power system #analysis #software has spent a lot of hours and money implementing models in the software, but the issue still remains of users taking adventages of those implemented models without a proper understanding of the #models.
So, a while ago, I started documenting those models with personal comments about my understanding of them to improve my students' knowledge of those models.
Believe me, it has an arduous task... especially keeping up with the updates...
Well, this is my new version, and I think this will be the last of the WECC models!
I would like to recognise the work of the WECC for developing those models and my friends and colleagues from #DIgSILENT for implementing them!

Some of the 𝗪𝗘𝗖𝗖 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 include a sub-model to represent the wind turbine shaft drive train, which is called the Turbine Model (𝗪𝗧𝟭𝟮𝗧).
The turbine 𝗪𝗧𝟭𝟮𝗧 model uses the 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 representation of the wind turbine shaft drive train.
The implementation of this model is quite interesting inside #DIgSILENT #PowerFactory, as they took adventages of the already existing asynchronous machine model (𝙀𝙡𝙢𝘼𝙨𝙢).
Therefore, the PowerFactory implementation takes into account the rotational inertia of the asynchronous machine in the Element Asynchronous Machine (𝙀𝙡𝙢𝘼𝙨𝙢) and the feedback of the rotational speed into the 𝗪𝗧𝟭𝟮𝗧 model (red dotted line box).
