I am working on an upcoming video that I am calling "Name that car!", in which I describe a specific place somewhere in the world, and you try to guess the car that is named after that place. In my research I found a long list of cars whose names were inspired by a place; enough that if this episode does well, I could easily do a follow-up video with more. The next episode will be a more typical (hint: related to Honda), followed by this "quiz" episode.
A while back I let you know of an upcoming Top 10 video on the worst automotive CEO's. I have this one set as a premiere for noon U.S. Eastern on May 4. This is my first attempt at trying a premiere, which means we all watch it together when it goes live, and you can post comments in real time, and all comments scroll next to the video as it plays. After the premiere, it is available for regular viewing like any other video. This is my longest video so far, at 40 minutes, so plan ahead to make sure you have time to watch the whole video during the premiere! For those of you who never liked the background music I have always had in my videos, you'll be happy to hear that starting with my next video being released this Saturday, the music is gone! Not that I wanted to do this, but for the past several weeks I have been battling with someone who claims they own the song, despite that I legally purchased a copy years ago and I have a license. Each time I released a video, they would request revenue sharing, so I was losing income on each video. Each time they did this, I disputed it, and until recently, they accepted my request and removed their claim. However this last time they did not want to release the claim. I have asked for help from YouTube about this, and they won't mediate any disputes. So to avoid a strike, I'm just going to stop using the music.
For my next Top 10 episode, I am considering a list of the worst automotive CEOs. I'd like your input on this. Below is my list so far (yes it is more than 10 - I'm trying to narrow it down). Some of these execs did some great things, but they also had some faults that I think can't be ignored. I don't have the list below in any specific order, at least not yet. Please provide your comments and other suggestions.
