Multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, multimedia artist, sound engineer and record producer... Todd is God. Todd Rundgren is one of the most prolific artists alive. Starting with his band Naz in 1968 he immediately began producing records for bands and made such a comfortable living he was able to treat his solo records as vanity projects with no one to answer to. In this playlist i have picked one of my favorites from each of his solo records as well as a few side projects spanning over 50 years. Always growing, always changing. Todd never sits still. youtube.com/playlist?list=PLy...

This weeks meditation is on Louis Cole. I think most musicians are well aware of this genius composer/multi-instrumentalist/drummer, and his influence on the industry. However, his eclectic brilliance has not seen much mainstream attention. Equally influenced by hard bop jazz, dubstep EDM and early 20th century orchestral composition. Always searching for defining new sound and refining previous attempts. My first exposure to his work was a short video called "Bank Account". An immediate deep diver proved my suspicions correct. He has recorded 4 solo albums, 2 live albums, 4 albums as his duo Knower, at least 3 l.p's and an e.p. mischievously as Clown Core and guested with artists like Snarky Puppy, Vulfpeck, Thundercat and too many more to count. This playlist is a loosely chronological jog through the musical landscape that is Louis Cole.

Excitedly I have unlocked the community feature finally. You all know me as a musician but I am first and foremost a fan of music with a deep and encyclopedic knowledge of music. My plan is to curate a weekly playlist about a facet of music or sound. I think a fitting begining, being that this my own origin. my biggest influence... Late Genesis. A portion of the band foolishly overlooked because of thier ability to write a hit. Thought of as a pop version of the progressive band once helmed by Peter Gabriel by many musical circles this era of the band continued to push boundaries and progress foward, embracing technology with new synthesizes and recording techniques as well as crafting complex beautiful tapestries of sound. This week I present Late Genesis youtube.com/playlist?list=PLy...
