As a trader, you should embrace things outside of trading.
We can call this “taking a break” from time to time. Grabbing a coffee/tea, going on a walk in nature, having sex, these are all ways to get away from the charts and recharge.
Doing so allows you to gain mental clarity. It relaxes you. It removes you from the proximity of pulling the trigger on trades and instead allows your mind to calm down, and you’d be surprised at how productive taking short breaks can be.
Another thing that took me awhile to learn was the importance of having passions outside of trading. Hobbies. Fun outings. Things that YOU enjoy doing, just for the sake of the experience. There are profound priceless experiences that can allow you to enjoy your life more and gain fulfillment in ways that money alone cannot bring.
Not all treasure is silver and gold.
Get away from the charts and treat yourself to a break regularly! You deserve, you’ve either earned it in profits or in progress towards profitability.
