As promised, there wonā€™t be a video today. Iā€™m trying to stick to a schedule of posting videos every other day to avoid overloading your feed. However, the blog is still updated daily!

Today, I published a piece on why Teletubbies is one of the most Deleuzian show of recent times. Check it out for free here: thebrazilianmutt.wordpress.com/2024/12/18/teletubbā€¦

Also, a big thank you to everyone who subscribed to the channel yesterday! Your support means a lot, and Iā€™m excited to keep sharing more content with you all.

See you in the next video!

Hey everyone! Just a quick update ā€” no new video today. Iā€™ve been reflecting on the direction of this channel and the kind of content I want to bring to you. Until now, Iā€™ve been pushing myself to post a new video every day, but thatā€™s not fully aligned with my journey.

As you guys know, my focus isnā€™t to be a YouTuber or videomaker. My true passion is writing, blogging, and exploring ideas through words. So, from now on, Iā€™ll be posting these horizontal, more complete videos (around 5ā€“10 minutes) every other day, alternating. I feel this will allow me to bring you better content without burning out and keep my focus on the writing journey.

I did post a video yesterday, so no new one today, but this doesnā€™t mean you wonā€™t see Shorts popping up here and there! You might catch a short clip from past videos, or even a spontaneous moment like a poem or a quick musical idea. That said, I just posted a piece with a very hot take on my blog that Iā€™d love for you to check out:

AI Isnā€™t Killing Artists ā€” Itā€™s Proving Why They Matter: thebrazilianmutt.wordpress.com/2024/12/16/ai-isnt-ā€¦

I know this is a hot take, but hear me out. I believe AI isnā€™t the end of artists ā€” itā€™s a call to action. As AI gets better at mimicking human creativity and human imagery, it highlights what makes us, as artists, irreplaceable: our ability to create meaning, build narratives, and craft emotional resonance.

This isnā€™t the end. Itā€™s a chance for us to rediscover and redefine our place in the world. Artists have faced challenges before, like the advent of photography, and every time, weā€™ve evolved. This is no different. Itā€™s time to rise to the occasion.

Take a moment to read it and let me know your thoughts. I truly believe that the more powerful AI becomes, the more indispensable we, artists, become. This is our moment to prove why art ā€” and artists ā€” matter.

Now, I need to thank all of you, especially the new subscribers. Iā€™m genuinely overwhelmed by support this channel has been receiving. A special shoutout to everyone who watched the video on ā€œ3 Stories Inspired by Object-Oriented Ontology.ā€ After that, I noticed a surge of readers checking out the blog and Medium posts ā€” and that makes me happier than any YouTube view count ever could.

Iā€™m deeply passionate about writing, complex ideas, and making knowledge accessible. Seeing people around the world engage with these short stories fills my heart with joy.

I also want to reassure you: Iā€™m not here to flood your feed. My goal is to connect, not overwhelm. Thatā€™s part of why Iā€™m moving to this new rhythm of every-other-day videos.

Itā€™s not just about time management (though I do have a lot going on!). Itā€™s about bringing you more thoughtful, intentional content ā€” and building a genuine connection with all of you.

For now, Iā€™m focusing on this cadence of videos, but Iā€™m dreaming of even more elaborate projects in the future. Step by step, right?

Tomorrow, Iā€™ll be back with another video diving into Object-Oriented Ontology. I canā€™t wait to share it with you.

Big hugs and kisses to you all ā€” thank you for being here.

Hey everyone! šŸ‘‹

Just a quick updateā€”there wonā€™t be a video today (though I might post a short or a quick poetry later), but the blog is alive and thriving as always, with fresh content dropping daily!

Todayā€™s blog post is one Iā€™m especially proud of: ā€œSuper Deluxe: Finding the Extraordinary in the Ordinary.ā€ šŸŽ„āœØ

This review dives deep into Super Deluxe, a film that masterfully intertwines humor, drama, and social commentary in a way thatā€™s both absurd and profoundly human. Even if I end up making a video about it someday, you NEED to read this post. Why? Because it captures the layers of the movieā€™s storytelling, the standout performances, and the way it challenges societal normsā€”all in a way I can only do justice to through writing.

Here's the link to the full text (it's free!): thebrazilianmutt.wordpress.com/2024/12/12/super-deā€¦

I also want to take a moment to thank all the new subscribers ā€” your support means the world to me! Every comment, like, and share lifts my spirits, and Iā€™m so grateful for this growing community.

Iā€™ll be back tomorrow with more videos. In the meantime, donā€™t miss todayā€™s blog post ā€” itā€™s a must-read for movie lovers and anyone who believes in the beauty of finding the extraordinary in the everyday.

Much love,

Victor

Hey, everyone! Sadly, there will be no video today, but the blog is still buzzing!

I was planning to dive into some Sci-Fi discussions with you today here on YouTube, but fortunately, life had other plans. Work has been piling up, and I wonā€™t have the time to record a video. Plus, itā€™s one of those rainy days here ā€” perfect for staying cozy indoors but not so great for filming.

That said, the blog is still going strong! I just posted a piece titled "Buzz Lightyear and the Philosophy of Objects: How Toy Story Explains Object-Oriented Ontology (OOO)". Itā€™s a mix of philosophy and Toy Story magic, exploring how Buzz Lightyearā€™s journey mirrors some fascinating philosophical ideas. If that piques your interest, head over to the blog and check it out!

Here's the link (you can read it for free): thebrazilianmutt.wordpress.com/2024/12/09/buzz-ligā€¦

I also want to thank all the new subscribers whoā€™ve joined recently. Your support means the world to me and keeps me motivated to write more and create videos. Thank you for being here ā€” itā€™s a huge boost!

I promise weā€™ll get back to our regular programming. For now, grab a coffee, enjoy the blog post, and stay dry if itā€™s raining where you are too!

Take care, and see you all soon!

To clarify my stance on some topics, Iā€™d like to share a video by a YouTuber I admire that addresses the Israel/Palestine debate in a thoughtful and accurate way. Iā€™ve shared his work here before, but given some comments on the recent "becoming-cannibal" video, I feel the need to make my position on this matter as clear as possible.

Gavinā€™s video provides more than enough philosophical reasoning to oppose the State of Israel and stand with the Palestinian people. We need to take a stand against the genocide currently unfolding in Gaza. I apologize if I havenā€™t made my position clear enough in the past, but I want to state unequivocally that I will always oppose oppression and hierarchies, including the concept of an ethnostate and Zionism.

I also want to thank everyone who has held me accountable. Times are tough, and people need to be called out. Your engagement pushes me to be clearer and more thoughtful in my communication.

Hello everyone! No video today, but donā€™t worry: the blog is running full steam ahead!

This morning, I published a piece on the classic movie Enemy Mine. Itā€™s a deep dive into why this film still resonates and what makes it timeless.

If you enjoy my content, head over to my blog or Medium to check it out:

šŸŒ Medium: medium.com/@victoralfons/enemy-mine-a-masterpiece-ā€¦

A huge thank you to all the new subscribers ā€” welcome to the community! Your support means the world to me. ā¤ļø

As for todayā€™s missing videoā€¦ well, hereā€™s the story: last night, I was playing late with my band, and since I usually record the videos in the early morning, I didnā€™t quite make it this time. But no worriesā€”thereā€™s a good chance tomorrow weā€™ll be back with fresh content!

Thanks for understanding, and I hope you enjoy the blog post! Let me know what you think in the comments. šŸ˜Š

Cheers!

Hi everyone, there won't be a new video today. However, I've published a new article on my website titled "Criolo and Meta-Anthropophagy: How Brazilian Rap Devours and Transforms Global and Local Language."

In this piece, I explore how the Brazilian rapper Criolo blends various linguistic and cultural elements to create a unique and transformative musical expression.

I delve into the concept of meta-anthropophagy and analyze how Criolo's work exemplifies this idea by integrating local dialects, global references, and poetic imagery. You can read the full article here:

Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to sharing more content with you soon!

Did you know that AI detection tools have flagged the Constitution of India ā€” yes, one of the most important documents in human history ā€” as ā€œAI-generatedā€?

This text is a deep dive into how these detectors work, the biases they inherit, and what this means for the way we view technology and ourselves. This issue goes beyond tech ā€” it's about the identity of nations, history, and culture.

Check it out, share your thoughts, and letā€™s start a conversation!

Hi everyone,

First of all, a big thank you to all the new English-speaking subscribers! I truly appreciate your support and interest in my work.

As many of you know, I post twice a day ā€” at least one video daily ā€” but writing has always been my first love. Today, I want to share something very special with you: a short story I wrote when I was just 13 or 14 years old, long before I had any idea what Object-Oriented Ontology was.

The story is called "Memories of a Retired Accordion," and itā€™s free to read on my blog. Itā€™s a reflection on the life of an instrument, filled with nostalgia and imagination.

šŸ”— Read the story for free here: thebrazilianmutt.wordpress.com/2024/11/22/memoriesā€¦

Iā€™d love for you to check it out and let me know your thoughts! Thank you for supporting my writing, and I canā€™t wait to hear what you think of this little glimpse into my younger selfā€™s creativity.

See you in the comments!
