Peppe Voltarelli (Cosenza, 1969) is an Italian singer-songwriter, actor, and writer. He has been active since 1990 as leader and voice of Il parto delle nuvole pesanti, a cult new folk band. As a solo artist, he has published seven studio albums, four soundtracks, and two concerts. He won the Tenco Prize three times, with âUltima notte a MalĂĄ Stranaâ in 2010, with âVoltarelli canta Profazioâ in 2016, and with âPlanetarioâ in 2021. He was the lead actor and co-writer of the movie âThe True Legend of Tony Vilarâ by Giuseppe Gagliardi, the first Italian mokumentary. His intense concert activity has led him to play in 25 countries around the world and his records have been released in Europe, Argentina, Canada, and the United States. His latest work, the album âLa grande corsa verso Lupionòpolisâ, recorded in New York City and published by Visage Music in 2023, was placed second in the final ranking of the Tenco Prize in the category best album in dialect.
