Welcome to Birdmanofcoorg
Coorg is rated as one of the top hill station destinations in India. Coorg is considered rich with wildlife and has three wildlife sanctuaries and one national park: the Brahmagiri, Talakaveri, and Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuaries.
Coorg also is known as Bird Watchers Paradise. Coorg alone has 320 species of birds, accounts for over 25% of all bird species in India and you get an idea of why birding at Coorg is so popular. Coorg promises everyone the melodious chirping of some of the most exotic species of birds. It is one of the hotspots frequented by bird watchers.
The bird habitats of the Indian subcontinent can be roughly divided into forest, scrub, wetlands (inland and littoral), marine, grassland, desert, and agricultural land. There is some overlap between habitats: for example, mangrove forests can also be considered as wetlands, as can seasonally flood grassland. Many bird species require mixed habitat types.
