My Thomas and Friends AU Explained: This AU not all engines have faces where they’re smoke box door would be. It’s very rare for it to happen during the first firing. But there’s still biofused engines. If they want to be an engine, then the process isn’t rushed. Thomas and friends happened around 1960s and biofusion was banned in 1984. So it would be 24 years before it was banned. The ones with just the face on the smoke box door can’t move in their own and need a crew. If they get broken, they’ll be sent to the steamworks to get repaired. A biofused engine can move on their own and they don’t need a crew. But they still need one for common sense and someone has to shovel coal into the firebox. If a biofused engine gets damaged, then it would be sent to a different steamworks to be checked over just in case if they got damaged on the inside. Biofused engines and engines with faces are treated the same. I’m making this up as I make it. If you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comment section of this post only.
