Hello, my fellow Gardeners! 🌿

It looks like I had some unexpected guests pop by for afternoon tea in the garden! I set out a lovely spread on my two-tiered feeder, and in no time at all, my little visitors arrived for a nibble. From a dashing robin to a pair of playful squirrels, it was quite the tea party! Here’s a peek at our garden gathering:

- A charming robin was the first to arrive, settling on the top tier like an honoured guest, enjoying his dainty selection of nuts and seeds.
- One squirrel decided to make a grand entrance, popping right up to the camera, perhaps asking where his cup of tea was!
- Another cheeky one peered over the edge of the table, politely checking if there were any more tea cakes to be had—such proper manners!
- Two guests arrived together, one squirrel inspecting the table while the other eagerly tucked into the treats, as if debating which dish to sample first.
- And the grand finale—two squirrels sharing the spread, one sitting daintily on the top tier while the other kept an eye on the proceedings from below. It was a garden tea party for the ages!

Hope you enjoy this whimsical moment, my Gardeners! Until next time, let’s keep the garden lively and full of surprises! 🌿🫖

Hello my lovely Gardeners! 🌻

I've had such fun filming this week's garden visitors, and I just had to share these delightful moments with you all. Take a look at who popped in for a snack at my little wildlife buffet! 🥜🌰

- Our little squirrel friend couldn’t believe his luck with all those nuts to choose from. Look at his cute little face!
- Here's the perfect duo: squirrel and pigeon, side by side, each enjoying their meal. Nature’s harmony at its finest.
- A bright robin came by too, pecking at the seeds and mealworms. He looks so elegant standing on the stone.
- This plump pigeon looks very pleased with the spread, doesn’t he? Those peanuts must be a real treat!
- And finally, our cheeky squirrel again, sitting happily with a hazelnut. Just adorable!

Come join me for the full video of all these precious moments:

Until next time, keep an eye out for your own little garden visitors!

Hello, my fellow Gardeners! 🌱🐦

I had quite the lively day at the bird feeders and couldn't wait to share these delightful moments with you all. Each bird brought its own special charm to the garden, and their colorful feathers and busy energy really made my heart sing. Here's a little peek at what I captured:

1. Our striking woodpecker, with its bright red plumage, taking a moment to enjoy the suet.
2. A bustling crowd of starlings, jostling for a spot at the feeder – what a flurry of wings and chirps!
3. A plump wood pigeon carefully balancing on the feeder, eyeing those seeds with pure determination. It’s always a joy to see these gentle giants up close.
4. A shy little robin hopping onto the feeder, its orange breast glowing brightly in the greenery.
5. A starling and its young friend sharing a feeder, showing off their beautiful iridescent feathers.

I hope these little snapshots bring a bit of joy to your day! If you want to see these feathery friends in action, you can watch the full video here: https://youtu.be/3LrFUvFFR2g

Happy gardening and birdwatching!

Hello, my lovely friends! 🐦🌿 Today, I had a little gathering of the garden's most adorable characters, and I just had to share these delightful moments with you all!

- A charming robin perched on the roof, singing its heart out with joy, as if to welcome the new day.
- Look at this cheeky squirrel peeking from behind the tree, caught in a funny standoff with a pigeon showing off its wings.
- Two birds, a jackdaw and a pigeon, sharing a meal on the feeder. The pigeon seems a bit protective of its snack, don’t you think?
- And finally, such a tender moment between two jackdaws, sharing what looks like a little kiss! How sweet!

You can watch the full video of these adorable antics here: https://youtu.be/FuauvngR29s

Thank you for joining me in my garden today. Until next time, keep smiling and enjoying nature's wonders!

We're big fans of the carrion crow at Patsy's Garden. It's unfortunate that their large, sleek, black bodies do not particularly suit the art of thumbnail creation so we can't highlight them more often. But we would like to celebrate our crows so I've included a picture here.

Along with the crows our latest video includes many of the usual suspects. The grey squirrels know how to strike a pose worthy of a thumbnail. It's often difficult deciding which of their dynamic and acrobatic moves to feature.

It was also nice to see some of the smaller birds visit the bird table. Blackbirds spend most of their time feeding from the ground whereas the tits eat mainly from the feeders where the larger birds and squirrels can't reach.

We're releasing our latest video today as a livestream where it will run all week. We hope to include it as a regular ad-free video soon. For now, you can watch it here:

Watch as this starling nonchalantly catches a mealworm that was dropped from the bird feeder 5ft above and then walk off as if it's nothing.

We're not big on Shorts at Patsy's Garden, but we thought this moment was too good not to share. I hope you enjoy it.

The last time we filmed this bird table on its own the birds and squirrels spent almost as much time on top of it as they did inside. So when setting up this scene I made sure to include plenty of space above so not to crop their heads out.

However, after about 90 minutes the only animal to go on the roof was this blackbird. Fortunately, I still had plenty of battery left to reframe the shot. The reframed shot actually works much better as well as it includes a small fence that the birds and squirrels use before going into the house.

The new video should be available within a couple of weeks. You can watch the previous video here:

We are very lucky to get an assortment of wildlife in our garden. However, the squirrels and larger birds do tend to dominate the bird tables. I wanted to film the smaller birds in more detail. How difficult could it be?

I set up a couple of bird feeders making sure to use a squirrel baffle so the squirrels could not climb up and eat everything. I positioned this away from other tall items so the squirrels could not jump to the feeders and then I set up the camera as far away as I could while still capturing the image I wanted.

I don't have the longest lens unfortunately, and although the camera was probably a good 2 meters away, this did not deter the squirrels. They were all over it and ended up using the matte box cover as a spring board to the feeders sending the whole thing crashing to the ground.

In the end, I did manage to get some nice footage of the smaller birds, and even some of a squirrel that made the leap without knocking everything down. The video should be ready soon. But in the meantime, enjoy these shots and check out our previous videos:

This cat is too cute. Even when the pigeons are twice his size he still has a go at them.
