I've always been told I'm "a lot." Too much emotion, too much energy, too much intensity for the world around me. But I've never known how to be any other way. I see the world differently—through a lens that feels deeper, more raw, and more connected. Children, animals, street kids, even those society labels as "mentally ill" are drawn to me like magnets, as if they can sense something in me that others overlook.

Recently, I had to make some hard choices. I cut off "friends" who, I realized, were dimming my light. They didn’t understand me, not really. They wanted to control my energy, to make me smaller, more manageable. But I’m not here to be managed. I’m here to 𝗯𝗲. (KUWA is swahili for "be" and also a show I can have, Keeping Up With Alvina)

Then, everything shifted. After an intense meditation session, I experienced what I now know was a Kundalini awakening. Waves of energy surged through me, unlocking parts of myself I didn’t even know were there. It was overwhelming, but it was also liberating. Suddenly, everything became clear—my purpose, my path, my power. I felt lighter, freer, and happier than I’ve ever been.

From that place of clarity, I began to compose my music in an even more deeper way than before, detached from the outcome. It wasn’t just melodies—it was emotion, pain, and healing, all pouring out of me. Each note was inspired by these transformative moments, no matter how hurtful they had been.

And yet, here I am. Writing this while unemployed, broke, in debt, and hungry. It’s not glamorous, but somehow, deep in my soul, I 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 everything will align. The universe has a way of testing us before it delivers, and I’m ready. My light is brighter than ever, and this time, I won’t let anyone dim it.

Met up with my cucu after a long time and it was such a breath of fresh air 😭🙌🏾🥰❤️🫶🏾 She prayed before having her food and crossed her heart the Catholic way and looked at me and smiled and said, "Some of us still cross our hearts and pray" and I smiled back and here were two different human beings brought together through blood and understanding despite any differences... so refreshing 😭
