Hello, Iām Liz Bryant, a gal from Oklahoma who broke my contract with NBC News to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. My destiny changed.
I was given the trail name āWildā because of my resemblance to Reese Witherspoon who starred in the movie āWildā. The rest of the username - āBy The Mileā - came two years later in a serendipitous way. I built out a Sprinter camper van to travel and live out of full-time. As I drove across The Bridge of the Gods in Oregon, the exact bridge I finished hiking 2,200 miles, the name popped into my head.
I earned a social following as an OG Solo Female Van Lifer, then gave it up for a private life.
April 2023, I bought 20 acres in Southern Californiaās olive and wine country. I have a big vision: a nature retreat, you-pick orchard, ranch home. What Iāve learned is EVERYTHING is learn-able. I follow my intuition and simply ājust go for itā because risks are where Iām most fulfilled.
