🎮 Sega’s F1 Beyond the Limit on the Mega/Sega-CD, from 1994.
I loved the presentation back in the day, but perhaps I was spoiled by Super Monaco GP on the Mega-Drive and Crammond’s F1GP on the Atari ST. Playing it on the Steam Deck in 2024, I’ve come to respect the driving aspect much more.
This is what I want from a modern casual arcade official F1 game. Simple-but-engaging gameplay, with no frivolous or excessive gimmicks, still keeping things ‘real’.

Enthusiastic Virtual Reality sim racing & driving - 👉🏼
Hi! This channel primarily features simulation motor racing games in virtual reality (VR) on the PC, focussing mainly on 1980s to present day Formula One, Rally and sports car racing.
The main titles featured are Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2 & DiRT Rally 2/EA Sports WRC titles.
My motorsport nostalgia(real and gaming) pretty much stems from the mid 1980s, as a pre-teen in the UK.
With every sim-racing video, I try to add as many authentic elements from those periods as I can - from TV channel logos, occasional intros, OSD graphics for the time, to onboard camera positions & effects plus broadcast TV replay cameras.
Whilst I’m primarily making videos for like-minded enthusiasts, I’m also making the types of videos I’d like to watch too! 😁
I hope this never-ending quest for period authenticity comes through.
