The monkey is a 256 color low-res (255x256) image while the river is a 256 color hi-res (512x256) image, both on the Sinclair QL with new FPGA accelerator card that adds color.

So I bought a ZX81 where someone had modified the case...basically an external keyboard connection. What do you think of my fix? Used super glue and graphite.

This is how I received my first ZX81 back in 1982. It came in an all cardboard box. No styrofoam, so pretty environmentally friendly. Shipped form 3 Sinclair Plaza, Nashua, NH USA.

Hey viewers, does anyone have two 1GB (each) DDR1 SODIMMs lying around. They would have been for an early 2000 laptop. I'm in need for two for a project. Can get 'em on eBay for about $20, which is a bit high. So if anyone has them that doesn't need them, I'd be happy to pay for shipping. You can find my email in the description.

I just built a homemade telephone network using a variable resistor (potentiometers) and a 9-volt battery. Stay tuned for some #MARCHintosh fun with my Apple PowerBook 180 and Sinclair QL.

In my video "Adding a Gamepad to the ZX81," I couldn't get all they keys on the keyboard to work, even after adding resistors to the kb lines. So I have to use an active circuit...using a prototype board, this should hopefully do it.

My Amiga 600 playing Lemmings, using it's RF output. The connection is just an alligator clip barely touching the antenna lead, that's why the picture is so bad. It's on a PAL flat screen TV -- a very special one that I'll be posting a video on soon.

The QL had many international keyboard layouts, but I didn't know about galactic. Klingon layout!

Hi folks!
Thanks for visiting my channel. Here you'll find videos of me tinkering with my childhood computers. My first computer was a ZX81, straight from Sinclair Research through mail order in the US. The Sinclair QL is still my favorite with its cool, Unix-like operating system in only 48K of ROM.
I also wrote a ZX81 emulator called ZXSimulator...give it a try by clicking the link below.
