Deputy Speaker Rodante D. Marcoleta is the representative of SAGIP Party-List in Congress which represents the marginalized sector of society. SAGIP stands for Social Amelioration and Genuine Intervention on Poverty. He is a lawyer by profession, having practiced for nearly 20 years. Prior to becoming a legislator, he provided pro bono legal services to the poor and vulnerable, particularly to the victims of unlawful eviction and demolition cases. Now on his fifth term as a lawmaker, he held key leadership posts at the House of Representatives. Aside from his extensive law practice and a productive stint in private industries, he is a fellow of Harvard Kennedy School on Developmental Leadership. He also holds a MBA degree Senior Executive Program at the University of the East (UE) and recently earned his Doctorate degree (PhD) in Public Administration and Governance at the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG).
