Welcome to AK Sawdust, a channel dedicated to woodworkers, career and technical education students, and shop teachers. My name is Brian Cook and I am a high school wood shop teacher and woodworker. My goal with this channel is to provide helpful tips and tricks shop teachers and students, as well as to the everyday craftsman trying to build their skills.
My woodworking journey began with a simple farmhouse dining table for my family. That project unleashed a passion for not just woodworking, but learning and teaching others what I know.
I taught high school English for 9 years, but in 2017 I was given the opportunity to switch to wood shop/CTE. It has been my passion to be the best woods teacher I can be and to learn and transfer as much of that information to my students and others as I can.
