The canceled follow-up to Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis (one of my favorite games ever), titled, âIndiana Jones and The Iron Phoenixâ wouldâve taken place in 1947 and seen Indy trying to thwart a plan to revive Tiny Mustache Man from the dead. It was later published as a 4-part series by Dark Horse Comics. The game was canceled due to budgetary limitations, time constraints, German laws, and failed outsourcing.
By the time the game was being developed, resolutions in adventure games had doubled from 320x200 to 640x480. This presented new challenges for the development team, who wanted to retain the realistic style of the previous game, but were unable to due to the color palette still being restrained to 256 colors. What resulted in the preliminary stages was a style that more closely resembled cartoons like Batman: The Animated Series.
Itâs a shame we didnât get to play this version, because it was already fleshed out in a 60-page document, and included action sequences that wouldâve changed the standard perspective from a small sprite wandering around in a large background to tighter shots, like the inside of a plane cockpit.
Some elements of the plot (such as the involvement of the Soviets) later made it into the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull film.
A gif featuring an early animation of Tiny Mustache Man melting away has become internet famous.
Iâm sharing this because itâs interesting and cool and I love Indiana Jones. You can read more about it at the International House of Mojo website.

Palette cleansers from the doom:
I am very excited to announce that my remix of Another Life will be getting re-released under Artimus Wolz (famous for Saddy Daddy-O) as part of his Ghost Servo remix EP dropping on May 9th. I also opened up about the experience of pursuing the remix on his blog, which will be posted on that date.
I have two collaborations with my friend Kainin Kain being released on Mustache Crew and G-Mafia Records.
My latest collaboration with Adrianne Grady, âWanderâ is out now as part of the Dissident Miami 2025 compilation. It will be getting a single release later in the year with remixes. My track âNirmataâ will also be getting a release with remixes.
I was a guest on The Burner Podcast (official Burning Man podcast) which will be out soon, and youâll get to sneak peek some stuff on there.
And Iâm playing Space Oasis in June, and the Wizard Rave at The Oven ATX on May 17th.
So Iâve got that going for me, which is nice.

YouTube announced theyâd make shorts up to 3 minutes long in what, October of last year? And still, when I upload anything over 1 minute, it posts it as a video instead of a short. Guess I just wonât upload any shorts over a minute here
