Do you think streaming supports artists?
🎵 Did you know that one Spotify stream pays an artist about £0.003?
That means even 100,000 streams = about £300.
Streaming ≠ Supporting.
I just dropped a video breaking this down (and what actually helps your favorite bands):

🚨 The Listening Post #003 drops today at 3pm (UK time)! 🚨
If I can get at least one track that makes you go OMG and one that makes you go WTF?! — that’s a win in my book.
These videos aren’t meant to be just a playlist of your favourites. The whole point is to nudge you outside your comfort zone every now and then — with a couple of tracks that feel like home, and a couple that might just rewire your brain. It’s about discovering something new to you, even if it’s been out in the world for a while.
I love making these, and I hope you enjoy watching them just as much as I enjoy digging up the artists.
Today’s journey takes us from light and ethereal… to brutally heavy… to “I don’t even know what to call this” — all in just 20 minutes.
That’s basically a tea break! ☕🎶

The Listening Post #002 drops today at 3pm [UK time]
6 great new artists from soulful female vocals to metal and one that is too strange to even categorise!!
This list was compiled entirely from suggestions in the comments section, although some were already on my personal radar.

It seems Ren is an even more popular artist (and subject) than I even imagined!!
I will be doing musical discovery videos where you can step outside your comfort zone into new genres and experience something new, and maybe even fresh, and I will also be doing a deepdive on an artist each motn.
However, I am up for doing more content on Ren. I have considered looking at his music from a standpoint of his lyrical content, or taking a particluar subject matter, such as illness, or social justice, etc.
What would people like to see more of that maybe is not covered by other videos already?
(PS I'm also open to ideas outside of Ren if people have interesting angles)

Apologies.
I am trying to read and reply to all the comments but it has become quite overwhelming as I am editing the next video as well. nd i want to make sure i get all the artists you suggest!
on another note the next video is looking awesome. the range of artist and music is mind blowing.
I want everyone to hear music outside their comfort zone alongside stuff they already enjoy because hey.. who knows you might even find a enw favourite artist!!
This thursday, a whole bunch of new artists that may well have just flown under your radar.

Just a heads up for those waiting for the Ren video to drop, it might not have that artwork as the thumbnail. I am testing 3 different versions, but they all have a big pic of Ren on them. So it is a bit of a give away...

So who loves Ren out there? Go on I know how many of you there are, I read the comments!! Bare love for the guy and it is obvious why, he is not only a fantastic musician, he is also a fantastic person. Watch out for my deep dive/tribute type video on Ren. Drops tomorrow at 15.00 [UK]

Wow! What a reaction to my last video. Thanks for all your support, subs and comments!! It seems there is a thirst for finding new music out there, so this will now become an ongoing series of videos. Number 02 will be out next week (I have a special on Ren coming out this week), and then I will maybe do them once a month or once a fortnight with other stuff thrown in to keep it interesting. If you have any suggestions for music to include or topics to cover.. just drop them as a comment.
