Heya! If you haven't seen it already, Shank Mods released an amazing video covering the discovery and rescue of the biggest CRT. This is a monumental accomplishment for the CRT community as a whole, and it would not have been possible without the help of many people who were involved. It makes me really proud to see what this community was able to accomplish given such a tight window of time.
If you haven't seen the video yet, you gotta do yourself a favor and check it out! I was fortunate enough to fly out to see this back in July of 2024, so expect a video covering my trip to see it in the coming months!
In the meantime, more content is on the way! Enjoy the New Years and thank you for an amazing 2024. Seriously, what a year.

Heya! In case you haven't seen it yet, I dropped a crazy dense video on the Sony HDM-20E1U! I'm actually super happy with how this one came out. It's bittersweet because it makes me wonder what the SMM21201P video would look like if it was made in this software. But hey! All good.
Hope you enjoy! More to come soon! I'm very excited to put the ideas I have written down to work.

Hey there! Thought I'd share an update regarding my previous post. After a lot of experimenting and messing around, I'm confident enough with my skills in DaVinci Resolve to produce videos that I believe are worthy of finally being uploaded! I've got another video in the works in addition to the SMM21106LS video, and it will be uploaded before it sometime soon. My intention is to use this shorter video to help further build my skills up to be used towards the SMM21106LS video, since that monitor deserves as high quality of a documentary as possible.
I'm very excited to be able to finally use a video editing software that allows me to breathe. Using VideoPad for 8 years was too much for these types of projects, and it was time to move on. The software was rough around the edges to begin with, and with the fact that I was trying to make lengthy 4k60 documentaries that were packed and literally layered with content, well, it reached its breaking point for sure.
I'm somebody who enjoys to go the extra mile, or two, or more when it comes to things that I'm passionate about. You might have noticed this here and there in videos. Although in my opinion, most of the times it would be a bit rough. Whenever I would try to do extra credit in VideoPad, it felt like I was punished for it. Literally 30 minutes or more would be added, with a ton of stress, which lead to burn out. It was pretty awful. Most of the time I was discouraged to have more fun with projects. In DaVinci Resolve, I have not even begun to see what this thing is capable of. I'm already doing things that I could only dream of doing in VideoPad. And the things I could do? They took maybe 10 seconds instead of LITERALLY 10 minutes.
So with this, videos are absolutely no doubt going to be higher quality and snappier going forward. And it'll only get better from there as my skills develop and I'm able to incorporate more and more creative touches to videos. Ironically enough, videos will also be finished way faster since DaVinci is actually responsive. Every time I just split a clip in VideoPad, it would no joke take 5 or more seconds for it to split. You can easily imagine how much time this would add up throughout a whole project. Therefore, quality and quantity without compromise! In this case it was due to (admittedly) unnecessary constraints. If anything, I was overworking myself using VideoPad to try and make these damn projects work. It's supposed to be editing, not fighting!
But anyways! That's all I've got for now. There's a lot of stuff to look forward to, and I'm honestly getting really excited. I've also got a much better tripod, and got a bit of a camera upgrade (fun fact, did you know I use a phone for my videos?) So things just keep on improving.
See you soon! :D

Have some stuff coming soon for CRT content! Sorry for the wait! I've been switching over to a different video editing software. The one I've been using was always at least half of the reason why the wait was already so long for these.
I may have maxed out my abilities with that software, but it was restricting nonetheless because of how slow and unresponsive every single action would be.
The transition to a new software has been a bit rocky, but I'm getting the hang of it. My goal with this switch is to have even higher quality content with a bit of a shorter wait time. (and less stress and frustration for me lmao)
I'm a bit embarrassed to say it, but people will ask anyway, what software have I been using?
It's uh, VideoPad. VideoPad Video Editor. By NCH. It's not built for what I want to do anymore. I've been using it for 8 years and it's time for it to retire from my arsenal. I'm now using DaVinci Resolve, and it has been wonderful.
See you soon!

Working on a short video that'll be out soon of me unboxing the SMM21106LS. Based on what I've been able to find, this may be Siemens' highest end monochrome mammography CRT that was landscape and 4:3.
This video will be short and sweet, and will briefly show my process of opening it. Expect a video dedicated to this monitor to come in the near future!

Hey! I don't really use anything like Twitter and stuff, but I figured I'd get in the swing of sharing what I'm working on, and whatnot. So, I'm gonna use the community feature here on YouTube to post and update what videos/content is in the works, as well as other things.
Might as well! I've got a lot of CRT content planned and currently in the works, and that includes more Siemens CRT stuff.
Thanks for watching my stuff! Hope you stick around.
