Today we celebrate a significant day in American history. #JUNETEENTH remarks the date that the abolishment of slavery was announced to slaves in Galveston, Texas. They were the last slaves to finally hear the news, 2 1/2 years after President Abraham Lincoln made the Emancipation Proclamation.
Today we honor those who have fought for freedom, the God-given human rights in this country as well as celebrate the freedom all men and women should have, not only in this nation but in the Kingdom. Take a moment today and celebrate with us, thank God for 158 years of freedom and continue to pray for peace and unity as we are all made in the same image of our God.
