I have published a vlog-style video after a LONG time! This one was made in September 2021! I put off editing for many months and finally uploaded it 5 months ago. But forgot to make it public 🤦🏻♀️

A deluge of varied thoughts and emotions overwhelms me as I dance the Shiv Tandav. For long, the Shiv Tandav had remained my favourite Odissi item, with my younger restless self finding liberation with the vigour this powerful dance demands. After ages, I wanted to perform this again and delightfully had made plans to create a video on the occasion of Maha Shivratri 2021. Unfortunately, covid struck me in December 2020, followed by a long and harrowing journey with long covid.
For months, I struggled with an extreme lack of energy. Everything hurt; I seemed to be eternally fatigued, and simple daily activities made me out of breath. A year ago, my body had almost given up on me, and if I had tried dancing the Shiv Tandav, my heart would perhaps have exploded.
Overcoming long covid has been the most challenging phase of my life so far. It took everything I had to take the first steps. The unwavering desire to get back to dancing again provided a huge impetus as I desperately fought for my body.
While I barely got over the long-term effects of covid, my Guruji, who taught me dance, succumbed to it a month ago. His soul remains captured in my dance audio, where he still goes into a trance whilst playing the percussion instrument 'pakhawaj' and provides me with rhythmic cues with the 'bol', as I try to do justice to his tutelage.
This one is for you, Guruji. I hope you will continue to bless me 🙏🏼

Hello everyone! I hope you haven't forgotten me. I've been missing in action from YouTube past few months as everything else in life got too overwhelming. Finally, I could shed my laziness and edit some of the long pending videos. I recently visited India, and this video is about the daytime makeup I did there using all Indian brands. Almost all are relatively new on the block and are cruelty-free and organic. Like always, my honest review is also included 😊

2000 subscribers reached today after 2.5 years! It has been a long and tedious wait and I can't figure out what better content I can create that people will enjoy. The lack of views can feel disappointing at times but I'm thankful that I have you guys in our lives. Thank you for supporting and encouraging us every step of the way. I hope even if in a tiny way, we're able to be of use to you ❤

I have been meaning to make this dance video for Tagore's death anniversary but somehow whenever I was off work, it rained. Finally a bit of dry spell in London and both my ace videographer (ie, the husband) and I were home on time to catch the golden hour. The song I'll be dancing to is a Hindi adaptation of a Tagore poem translated by another genius poet who will be celebrating his 87th birthday in a week, Gulzar. The album was released few years ago I believe but embarrassingly I came across only recently; and immediately it became my ear worm.
If you are familiar with the album, you might have guessed which song I have selected. I wanted to build a story around it hence the get up. I think the last time I wore sindoor was a decade ago and I had to borrow some from my puja thali for this. Anyway, now that I have completed my Bangali bou portrayal, I can finally go for a hair cut.

Reminiscent of an age of renaissance, liberalism and decadence, Babu and Bibi channel the spirit of those classy, flamboyant, emancipated gentlemen and ladies of Bengal, who challenged orthodoxy of the time, and openly indulged in their love of aesthetics through arts, music and fashion.
The Babu and Bibi culture of colonial Bengal was immortalised by the Kalighat painting artists or the 'patuas', who often resorted to humor to depict the neo-modern lives of the nouveau rich.
The new age Babu and Bibi however, do not wish to be restricted to pictures. Born and bred in Kolkata and now living in London, they are as global as they are local and are fortunate to experience the best of both worlds. Bibi (Pritha) is a doctor specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology and a dancer and her other half Babu (Vikram) holds a senior management position.
This channel is an attempt to share their ideas on themes they love - fashion, travel, dance, health, home decor and lifestyle in general 😊
