Maazi represents a beautiful chapter in the life of Synergy the Band—a journey that began in January 2012 and gracefully concluded in December 2023. It was an era filled with collaboration, creativity, and change, marked by the entry and departure of several talented musicians. But through it all, one thing remained constant: the heart of Synergy—the founding member and guitarist, Shaheryar Shahzad.
I feel blessed to have worked alongside incredible artists during this time. Usama Shahzad, whose voice breathed life into many of our songs, and Zoya Shah, now leading Kahaani Band, brought depth and soul to our music. We were also honored to work with Daniyal Badshah, the iconic voice of Mizmaar, whose energy and presence elevated us.
One name I cannot forget is Amritsaree (Kami), whose steady beats on the drums guided our sound for the final five years of this chapter. And, I must honor Owais Ali Shah, the man who made me believe that this dream of making music was possible. Without his faith, Synergy the Band may never have flourished the way it did.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the relentless work of Shaghil Ali, who produced most of our music during Maazi, giving it the life and soul it deserved.
Each track we created during this chapter is a story in itself:
Ghum Na Hote – Written and composed by myself, with the incredible voice of Usama Shahzad and produced by Owais Ali Shah.
Perchaiyan – A personal favorite, once again, Usama’s vocals led the way, and Shaghil Ali brought it to life with his production.
Chal Raha – My words, Usama’s voice, and Shaghil’s magic behind the scenes.
Dhoonde – Written by me, and featuring Zoya Shah on vocals, produced by Owais Ali Shah.
Gumshuda – This track was a special one, featuring Daniyal Badshah’s powerful vocals, and produced by Dilawar Hussain.
Le Jao Na – Written, composed, and sung by Usama Shahzad, produced by Shaghil Ali.
Looking back, I wish I could have done more. With every song, I dreamed big, but with my limited abilities, I wasn’t always able to bring those dreams to life as I imagined. But, that’s the beauty of the journey—it teaches you, humbles you, and makes you grow. And though Maazi has passed, it was nothing short of beautiful.
To everyone who has been a part of this journey, I cannot thank you enough for your support and love. You made it all worthwhile. Maazi is gone, but the memories will always stay.

Though I graduated as a Chartered Management Accountant, I have always lived as a guitarist. Since 2012, I’ve composed, written, and poured my soul into each song and melody, using music as my language and passion.
