Working very hard right now to organize the shipping of the Pellet Extruder and other tasks related to Greenboy3D like organizing a supply of pellets for everyone and a pellet extruder wiki, which is why I sometimes have trouble answering everyone immediately.
Most parts for the extruder have already arrived and have been processed & packed for shipping, however the pellet extruder screws are still in manufacturing since this is the most complicated and costly part of the pellet extruder. I believe that the first units will be shipped out by the end of October.
Due to the additional organizational tasks related to the supply of pellets, there is simply more work that needs to be done. This includes staying in contact with many companies selling different types of plastics & watching out for good offers, requesting samples, testing them, negotiating prices, organizing the transportation of tons of plastic pellets, and so on.
These tasks also take up some of my time, which would otherwise have been spent on the Wiki/Knowledge Base platform and the guide videos.
Just a couple days ago, for example, I ordered and paid for 8,600 kg of PLA pellets, which will likely be transported to my location from Slovenia next week.
2500 kg PETG pellets are already in my possession, but more of other types are needed like:
ABS/ASA/ABS-GF/ABS-GB
PET
TPU/TPE (various Shore levels)
PA GF/CF
Additionally soon there will be a new update about the ongoing progress (including the one about pellets) 🙂
If you want to get some additional pellets along with your order then that is possible however you need to consider that, while the pellet extruder will be shipped for free there will be additional shipping costs for pellets.
However I will keep you updated regarding the pellets.
The only thing I am not sure about is whether I should also get these extremely elastic pellets I showed in one of my videos, after doing more research it turned out these were not Shore 5A, but Shore 30 (with out the "A") which is significantly below Shore 0A meaning even more elastic and flexible than Shore 0A
The only problem is that these pellets are quite expensive compared to other plastics and could only be offered for prices like 12,99 USD/EUR per kg (way higher than the other plastic types like PLA, which will probably go for 3,5 USD/EUR)

I would like to give you an update on what has been done in the past weeks, the current status and what is planned next.

I decided to add additionally all necessary tools you need for the screws and nuts like L Type Hex keys and Wrench to the Pellet Extruder KIT, which means you don't need to get additional tools to handle the screws etc.
I have also added 1,5 meters of cable sleeve protection, so that you can cover the wires coming out of the pellet extruder print head and have a better overall aesthetic.

Regarding the production - most parts are finished and some are already in the process of getting packaged, however unfortunately not all parts are finished yet like the extruder screws and barrels since these are the most expensive and difficult to manufacture parts.

According to the survey from my last email about asking which plastics people print the most with, the winners are PLA, PETG, TPU/TPE and ABS/ASA.
Based on the relevance of these different plastics, I decided to purchase the following amounts of plastic pellets for bulk prices with the goal in mind to offer you easy & low-cost access to plastic pellets for which the majority of you voted for in my last survey:
PLA Pellets - 10000 kg
PET-G Pellets - 2500 kg
PET Pellets - 2000 kg
TPU/TPE Pellets - 2000 kg
ABS Pellets - 1000 kg
Maybe some more exotic materials will be added in the future, but these are the ones I am focused on for now.

The major next step I am focused on is the creation of the knowledge base platform which will offer you guides in text or video form, tutorials and instructions about my Pellet Extruder but also Pellet 3D printing in general, ensuring that you will have flawless experience with my pellet extruder.
Once all related tasks with the pre-orders and the "Greenboy3D infrastructure" are completed, I will start to create new high quality videos on my YouTube channel, but also to continue my research & development efforts regarding pellet 3d printing and plastic recycling, with the goal in mind to make Pellet 3D Printing globally less expensive and more accessible...

I am happy to announce that I am in the final stages of releasing my Pellet Extruder!
The start date for the Greenboy3D Pellet Extruder's Launch is now set. The Extruder will be available to order on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 12:00 AM Eastern Time through my updated website: greenboy3d.de/.
I want to thank you for your support and would like to give you an overview of what is going to happen next.
First things first, you may have heard that all the development, research, and prototype iterations were funded entirely by myself, with the help of my current job. While this was enough to get the project to its current state, it is unfortunately not enough to finance the mass production of the extruder parts on my own.
For this reason, I have decided to do a pre-order launch where you can get the Pellet Extruder at a lower price and receive video chat support with me in weekly group meetings. However, you will need to wait 2–3 months until production is finished before it can be shipped to you. This approach will help bring the project to life. The pre-order price would be 289 USD/EUR, and after the pre-order phase, it will be 389 USD/EUR, both with free international shipping.
Along with the launch, I will quit my job to dedicate myself fully to the long-term vision of what Greenboy3D stands for: "Making Pellet 3D Printing globally less expensive and more accessible."
In my opinion, just offering a good Pellet Extruder is simply not enough to accommodate this vision. People still have too many questions without answers, such as:
- "Where can I buy pellets for a good price??"
- "How can I recycle my plastic waste to usable pellets??"
- "How to use a Pellet Extruder or install it on my 3D printer??""
And many more questions...
What's needed is a knowledge base platform with guides, examples, and videos that teach everything about Pellet 3D Printing and acts as a foundation for further self-development and growth of the Pellet 3D Printing community.
To create such a platform, a ton of work is necessary. Unfortunately, it seems that I am one of the few at the moment who knows the answers to these questions. I will, therefore, take the initiative and sacrifice a bit of my lifetime to create this platform for the greater good, because someone needs to do it so that Pellet 3D Printing can start to flourish—even at the hobbyist level.
