Recently back from an epic Azamara cruise around Scotland! This was a childhood dream come true, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. From ancient castles to the mysterious Loch Ness, we saw it all; including an ancient stone circle like the one featured in "Outlander."
The Scottish Highlands are straight out of a fairytale - rugged mountains, crystal-clear lochs, and villages that feel like they stepped out of a time machine. And the cities? Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness... each one has its own vibe, its own charm.
Edinburgh, with its iconic castle and cobbled streets, is like stepping back in time. Glasgow, with its vibrant arts scene and friendly locals, is a city that's full of life. Inverness, the gateway to the Highlands, offers stunning scenery and a taste of traditional Scottish culture.
But it's not just the cities and landscapes that make Scotland so special. It's the people. The Scottish people are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and passionate about their country. They're always happy to share stories, recommendations, and a warm smile.

Isn't this just a beautiful place? And we got the chance to stay there and soak it in for an evening. It was an unforgettable evening in Troll Fjord Norway. Our Azamara cruise was transformed into a magical experience with a "white party" amidst towering mountains and cascading waterfalls. We are so fortunate to have experienced this. Norway's natural beauty provided an unparalleled backdrop and it's become a memory etched in time for us. Consider adding this amazing destination to your bucket list.

We got the chance to reconnect with the natural world and experience a profound sense of peace. We felt like kids again playing outside in the fresh air.

We're officially cruise converts! 🛳️🌊 We have tended to be landlocked Airbnb nomads, dodging unreliable stays and skyrocketing prices. Don't get us wrong, exploring new cities through Airbnb can be a blast, but the constant uncertainty of finding a decent place to stay does sometimes wear thin. Between unreliable hosts, last-minute cancellations, and those hidden fees that always seem to pop up, it can feel like more stress than vacation.
Now, we're tending to trade in those stressful searches for the ultimate in relaxation and adventure. Cruising is chef's kiss. Imagine waking up in a new location every day! There's something undeniably freeing about having your room, your meals, and your entertainment all taken care of. Plus, you get to explore new destinations without the hassle of packing and unpacking every few days.

Happy New Year! We hope your holidays were wonderful! It's time to get back on the road again in 2024. Our Spain adventures start on January 12th so set your notifications. There's lots more of Europe and amazing cruises, and hot destinations coming up this year during our slow travel so we are very excited to share it all with you.

Our philosophy is to "travel wide" meaning all over the world, but also to "travel deep" which means we typically spend a month or more at a destination to get to know the culture. We are Chris and Michael, a gay couple who live in Washington DC. We retired early (as a clinical psychologist and a business executive) to enjoy slow travel.
You will see playlists called destination “collections” and “series” on our channel. You can binge these from start to finish which allows you to immerse yourself in a location and learn what it’s really like to explore there.
Our channel also contains playlists called “selects.” These group specific videos that cover popular travel related topics like travel tips, cruising, finances, or the psychology of travel.
We lean towards more affordable luxury travel experiences (although much harder to budget these days) and hope to one day be among the best YouTube travel channels. Let's share travel experiences together.
