Sunita Williams, an esteemed astronaut with Indian roots, is once again preparing to venture into space. This will mark her third space mission, this time aboard the Boeing Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100 Starliner spacecraft. Although originally scheduled for May 7, 2024, the mission has encountered a slight delay, pushing the launch back by at least 24 hours due to technical issues.

At 58, Williams carries a wealth of experience from her previous missions. She embarked on her first spaceflight on December 9, 2006, which lasted until June 22, 2007. During this mission, she performed four spacewalks, setting a record with a cumulative spacewalk time of 29 hours and 17 minutes. Her second journey began on July 14, 2012, and extended until November 18, 2012, adding another 127 days to her total days in space. Combined, Williams has spent 322 days in orbit, making significant contributions to space exploration.
