Mae’s mom had another litter of puppies. Cute but very irresponsible. My wife has even offered a free spay but the owner refuses. We thought about fostering them but we’re still sick (finally starting to recover) and we’re behind on life right now lol.

When Polly dog was a shoulder chihuahua! She used to sit up there so often that she would fall asleep. Weirdly once we moved the couch she stopped sitting on my shoulder. Which is why I don’t post any of those cute videos of our shoulder conversations anymore.

Mae is having a great time on her solo walks! There's a park near us so I've been letting her off leash there so she can run around, and her recall has been nothing but perfection! I was hoping to get some nicer photos but with the light and Mae moving all over the place it was tough.

Mae's DNA test results! I was going to do this as a video, but it just made more sense to me to do it like this. One thing I was right about was that she has a fair bit of German Shepherd. I'm guessing that's where her intelligence and high obedience come from! We used a test from "Embark" by the way. It shows a lot of other things like her family tree and a bunch of less exciting nerdy stuff. The one thing that's unfortunate is she's at risk for Degenerative Myelopathy. Which is a spinal issue that tends to develop later in life.

I was a bit worried when we took Mae to the beach a few weeks ago and she didn't seem interested in water. I'm very excitable when it comes to water and swimming so I love when my dogs also love water. A few days ago we went on a hiking trail and I jumped down on to some rocks in the river and Mae actually joined me! So here's hoping we have a water dog next year :)

Hey everyone! So my original vision for this channel was to make vet related videos with my wife. That obviously didn't happen because I realized just how hard it was to sync up with her for videos. Lol. I've been thinking of directions for this channel and for now I think I'm going to start posting "Porter and Polly extras". Specifically videos taken on my new camera that are more relaxing in nature, kind of like the one I posted yesterday. It may take awhile for me to get into a groove and ill have to experiment but that's my goal for the channel at this moment in time. I was thinking of maybe doing longer "vlog" style too but ahh who knows. Anyway, if you're interested, stick around! I'll probably daily post assuming I have things to post :)

This little guy Cassidy came to the shelter missing one of his hind paws.
It didn't slow him down at all but because he had no padding at the end of his leg it was causing him to get sores and it was infected.
I attached a picture of his little leg on xray. You can see his bone just stops. This likely happened when he was born and the umbilical cord wrapped around his leg and cut off circulation.
Yesterday we proceeded with amputating the rest of his leg so that he doesn't have constant issues with pain and infections.
He is already doing so well and has a home lined up as soon as he's cleared for adoption!
