This YouTube channel documents the music ministry of Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Columbia, South Carolina USA under the direction of Organist and Choirmaster Mark Husey from Lent 2009 through his departure for Los Angeles in 2016, prior to its elevation to a minor basilica in 2018. Featured are many congregational hymns, choral and congregational settings of the Ordinary of the Mass, devotional anthems and motets as well as excerpts of major choral works including Monteverdi's "Vespers of 1610" and J. S. Bach's "Mass in B Minor." These recordings give witness to the love and glory of God and offer a slice of parish life in a uniquely American/Southern university community with exceptionally generous provisions of time, talent, and treasure.
