The latest upload on my Classical channel is this very cheap budget label release from 1973. Is it any good? Have a listen, read my blog, and find out! musicandvinyl.blogspot.com/2019/10/dvorak-symphony… watch video on watch page

It's hard to know how many people visit this Community tab - I never get email notification of any activity - so I haven't been using it much lately.

I had a short break from posting videos on my two Channels, but am back now with some (hopefully) interesting plans for future videos.

It's been a few months since I upgraded the platter on my CTC Classic 301 from a hammertone aluminium one to a 12kg brass one from CTC. Aside from looking the business, the sonic benefits are extra depth and stability. I use a Funk Firm Achromat on it, but here's a view minus the mat showing off it's brass glory . . .

YouTube tell me this video has just hit 10k views. Not a lot in YT terms of course, but it's nice to know it's been getting noticed a bit! watch video on watch page

The last post to my Classical channel was this 1962 recording of Stravinsky conducting his farmyard tale "The Fox". The recording certainly doesn't sound 57 years old. watch video on watch page

This week's video on my Classical channel is this stylish performance of Haydn's 52nd symphony - one of the few in a minor key. As usual the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields are on top form. watch video on watch page

New on my Classics channel is this remarkable suite from Biber, composed in 1673, which features polytonality and "prepared" instruments - things that are usually associated with 20th Century classical music. More is about this is on my blog: musicandvinyl.blogspot.com/2019/01/biber-battalia-… watch video on watch page
