My first little orchid haul in nearly 3 years!! Haven’t I been good?! 😝. Got some lovely blooms from the QLD International Orchid Festival and also a good lot of phal seedlings (from my fave @mns_orchids ) to replenish those I lost over winter. Also picked up 2 long standing wishlist orchids - seedlings of Phal Mini Mark & Den spectabile. Did it all with a toddler in tow (the pram came in handy 😂😂)
Cattleya Tenebrosa 4N x Milleri. Even though it doesn’t resemble a Cattleya Zip like I thought it would (it’s a massive plant), this beauty has become one of my firm favourites. It’s beautiful, vigorous and reliably blooms every year.
Paphiopedilum Gloria Naugle 😍😍😍😍😍😍. I bought this plant back in 2018 and have been patiently caring for this seedling for 4.5 years. Those of you who have watched my paph vids know how I’ve been waiting for this day… and it was WORTH IT, and a second bud developing!! Omg this bloom is huuuuge, and the color is divine!
Happy New Year to all my friends and fellow orchid lovers near and far. I’m welcoming 2023 with open arms. I’ve decided no videos for a good while unfortunately. I’m just busy with too much on my plate. But trying to do some repotting on weekends and focusing just on keeping the plants happy and one day in the future I’ll get back to my channel. I loved making YouTube content but it is very time consuming and I’d rather make sure I have some healthy plants to film in the future. I wish every one a 2023 filled with love, good health and happiness ❤️
Paphiopedilum philippinense. My lazy shadehouse photography doesn’t do it justice. Those extraordinary long twisting petals and a total of 6 blooms this year 😍😍. This orchid only blooms once every two years for me. Yes I nurture and care for a plant diligently that only gives me one spike every two years… it’s a joy only an orchid lover can understand 🥰🙃

A little repotting underway. Long overdue for my whole collection but alas it’s a slow and steady road. Winter was very harsh and wet here and the phals are doing very poorly. Lots of other spikes on the way though!
Unfortunately no time for videos but will try to start posting some spring blooms here as I miss interacting with my YouTube crew! xx
