After Israeli football fans went on a rampage in Amsterdam, sparking clashes with local residents and pro-Palestinian supporters, the city’s mayor initially compared the violence to a “pogrom” - calling Israeli fans victims of a violent attack.
But now, she has backtracked on her statement, apologized and said the term is being used as propaganda to stigmatize Muslims and Moroccans.

Infectious skin diseases are spreading rapidly in Gaza and part of the reason is because Israel is blocking soap from entering the enclave.
Limited access to water, unhygienic conditions in cramped tents and the destruction of Gaza's sewage and sanitation system is making it even worse. Israel is restricting humanitarian organizations from delivering soap into Gaza, and aid workers who try to bring it in have had it confiscated.

Benjamin Netanyahu has fired defense minister Yoav Gallant, replacing him with lsrael Katz - another far-right figure who supports building settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Both Netanyahu and Gallant could face ICC arrest warrants for war crimes in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023. The ICC has accused them of using starvation as a method of warfare and crimes against humanity.

The average monthly wage in Cuba is now between $16 to $23.
Inequality and prices on basic goods have skyrocketed in recent years, and more than 500,000 Cubans have fled the island since 2021.
The U.S. ally Israel has also enacted one of the longest blockades in modern times imposing a total land, air and sea blockade against Gaza since 2007. The blockade had pushed Gaza's poverty levels to above 50%, even before lsrael began its genocide in late 2023, decimating Gaza's infrastructure and causing poverty and hunger for Palestinians.

These children had hopes of a brighter future where they could play freely without fear of being bombed in their homeland.
But Israel cut their dreams short - and their lives too.
From northern and southern Gaza, and to the occupied West Bank, here are some of the children killed by Israeli forces in the last few weeks. Israel’s attacks have killed over 16,000 children in Gaza since the start of its genocide, and at least 167 children in the occupied West Bank.

The Committee to Protect Journalists said on X, “Israel has repeatedly made similar unproven claims without producing credible evidence.”
As it silences journalists, Israel has leveled over 10 residential buildings in Jabalia and stormed the north’s only remaining hospital, threatening the lives of about 200 patients trapped inside and conducting mass arrests.
One of the journalists targeted by Israel, Anas al-Sharif, wrote, “North Gaza is being wiped out.”
Journalist Bisan Owda reacted to the attacks in Jabalia, saying: “No civil defense to grab the people from under the rubble. Nothing. Even journalists. No one to cover this massacre ... the world is complicit in this, is silent on this.”

Israel’s military made false allegations that six Gaza-based Al Jazeera journalists, Anas al-Sharif, Talal Aruki, Alaa Salama, Hossam Shabat, Ismail Farid and Ashraf Saraj, are members of the Palestinian groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).
Al Jazeera rejected the claims in the strongest terms, saying that the allegations are an excuse to target its journalists.
Israel has already killed at least four Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza.

lsrael Katz says the Israeli army has killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza. His death has not been confirmed by Hamas. Sinwar was a refugee from Israel, like the majority of Gaza residents. He was born in a refugee camp in Khan Younis in 1962 after his family had been forced from their homes during the Nakba that accompanied lsrael's creation in 1948. Sinwar, who served two decades in an Israeli prison, had been Hamas' leader in Gaza since 2017. He was elected leader of the Hamas political bureau after Israel assassinated its former leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Iran last July. Sinwar is the fourth leader of the movement to have been assassinated by lsrael over the past 20 years, while a number of other top leaders have been killed or targeted in the same period. Israel has made Sinwar a priority target since the Oct. 7 attacks, in which at least 1,139 people were killed and more than 200 taken captive in Israel.
Since then, Israel's genocide in Gaza has killed over 42,000 Palestinians over a third of them children in unrelenting attacks that have destroyed most of Gaza's infrastructure and rendered much of the territory uninhabitable. As a result of Israel's genocide, the UN estimates at least 1 million Palestinians there face imminent starvation. Gaza has been under Israeli occupation for over 50 years. After the Hamas military takeover of Gaza in 2007, Israel imposed a debilitating land, air and sea blockade plunging the occupied territory into poverty. It has no regular access to electricity, clean water, employment or basic necessities.
