Dear fans,
Back when we broadcast our first virtual concert on March 21st, 2020 we had no idea that we'd still be doing this nine months later. But thanks to the tireless efforts of our production crew and the hundreds of artists who performed in our venue and the enduring support of our fans and partners, we have managed to produce over one hundred high-quality live streamed performances for Nectar Virtual Concert Series.
And perhaps most importantly, we've been able to do this without a single known incidence of exposure.
We're proud of what we've been able to accomplish as an indie live streaming venue in the age of Coronavirus, acting within state and local guidelines and adapting to ever-changing circumstances. But the truth, of course, is that our quick pivot to operating as a broadcasting studio was never meant to be a long term solution nor a feasible replacement for our business as a live music venue.
The difficult realization of recent weeks is that now is a time to push pause and hold out for a brighter day. We're very excited to close out 2020 with NVCS presents Nite Wave '80s NYE Party! We'll be slowing down in 2021, probably still a show here and a show there, until it makes sense to ramp our production back up...
The *good news* is that you can still watch nearly 100 high-quality concerts archived on Nectar YouTube Channel youtube.com/nectarlounge where you'll find them broken into playlists by genre to help you discover shows you'll like! These are available at no cost and we invite you to tune in this winter and, if you can, "Pay What You Will". Every little bit helps!

How does it sound (and look) out there?
Nectar Virtual Concert Series (NVCS) is produced using the pro venue sound, lights and stage at Nectar Lounge, an independent music venue forced to shut down in mid-March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Our goal is to deliver the closest-to-actual live concert experience in a virtual concert format. Performances are filmed and broadcast live so that the performers can read your comments and engage with the audience in real time... so let them know you're out there!
So where is everybody?
The artists perform in an empty venue with no actual audience and are instead filmed with multiple camera angles and broadcast out to a live virtual audience across various platforms.
But we couldn't do it without your support!
The live streams are presented at no cost, and fans are encouraged to "Pay-What-You-Will" with contributions supporting the artists, venue, and various social causes. As of this post, NVCS has produced over 50 live streams, thanks to the support of generous viewers like YOU!
So how can you chip in?
You can visit our website www.nectarlounge.com and select any upcoming stream for more info and to contribute! You can also chip in at paypal.me/nectarlounge or Venmo us @nectar-lounge just please be sure to leave a memo letting us know what stream you are contributing to!
You never want to miss another NVCS live stream?
Well that's easy, please click "subscribe" on Nectar's YouTube Channel (youtube.com/nectarlounge) and "ring the bell" so you'll receive a notification as we're going live with new concerts! We're happy to entertain you!
What about health & safety?
Keeping performers and limited crew safe is the #1 priority and we have a series of ground rules that require strict adherence as prerequisite to proceeding with each of these performances. We limit the people in the building to the absolute minimum of essential workforce only and have measures in place to promote social distancing before, during, and after performances. Self-reporting and temperature taking is a mandatory request to ensure nobody is symptomatic. Musicians are required to wear masks while not performing, and encouraged to mask up while performing when they can. We do sanitize equipment after each performance, and do not allow sharing of microphones. Hand sanitizer is available throughout and of course we encourage hand hygiene, while discouraging any/all contact between individuals, face touching, etc and prohibiting close contact between crew and performers.
