just wanted to share this for any of yall who are stuck overthinking and struggling to finish a track right now.
You keep listening to your drop over and over again, without expanding and making an intro (or the rest of the track)..
because you feel the fear of "it's not gonna fit with the drop"
but if you haven’t even tried sketching out an intro, a breakdown, or something to push the idea forward, then what’s the point of opening the project at all?
It's just stalling.
I recently read a quote from Rick Rubin's book... he said "To dismiss an idea because it doesn't work in your mind is to do a disservice to the art. The only way to truly know if any idea works is to test it."
so just do things and see if it works, give yourself permission to be wrong.
working through a puzzle, there are no mistakes because each unsuccessful solution gets you a bit closer to one that works.
