Ok, well, that explains why I went to bed at 8. Woke up sick with a pretty significant sore throat. We'll see how things go, but I may be posting less today. Hopefully just the viral not-Covid no-fever crud that is going around literally everywhere.

Still in a great mood, though. We The People have the power!

Hi, folks. It's going for 8pm and I have 5 videos I had scheduled to film this evening on 2 ICE abductions, SCOTUS, Tr*mp crashout/lash outs, and the book Dying of Whiteness. But honestly, I'm pretty wrecked and I have a super long day tomorrow and I'm gonna hit the hay at 8.

I will do my best to get to all of these topics tomorrow. I realize that I have been over-promising on content… Often not getting around to film filming topics I have already made notes for, or even sometimes not getting around to editing and publishing videos that I film because I just don't have enough hours in the day. I am going to do a better job of holding myself accountable to not promise to cover something and then later drop the ball.

Honestly, the thing that I hope everybody can take away from the last 24 hours is that we the people DO have the power. We are choosing to come together and wield that power, and that there are so many reasons to hope and just as many to take action...together. We get to do this thing together. We're all needed and we all have a role to play.

Who keeps us safe? We keep us safe.
No one is coming to save us because we don't need a savior. We have had the power to save ourselves the entire time, and we're waking up to that reality. Goodnight, y'all. Sleep well.

Hi! I hope everybody is basking in the glow of our multiple victories yesterday. I know I sure am. And it also makes me excited to get to work and keep that momentum going!

Here's one of my favorite pieces of news from today: Mamdani has picked Lina Khan as part of his transition team!!

On a side note: my videos aren't really catching in the algorithm the last two weeks-ish, and despite growing subscribers, my views are down. If you could do me a favor and remember to like and comment on a video and maybe share it with friends, that really helps it get pushed in the algorithm. Thank you!!

Hi, folks! Late night. Sorry for the typos. I think I got them all corrected. It's been a day 😂.

I hope everyone had a restful Sunday. My daughter surprised us with a visit this weekend for her birthday and it was good to see her, but she's back to college. We made French Toast for dinner and finished watching Return of the King.

I know it's hard to hold on to the normal routine right now, but in the ways we can, trying to provide some normal for our kids, and engaging in the mundane activities of life and the small joys is so important. We remember to cherish the things the regime wants to take from us. We remind ourselves that the very ordinary lives we want to live are worth fighting for.

Went to hear Tim Snyder with some friends. It was an excellent convo. Lots to sit with, but I feel really hopeful and inspired tonight.

Hi!! I am not going to be able to film videos until I get back from some community advocacy meetings throughout the day today. I want to talk about whistle brigades later today, but in the meantime, please go follow www.instagram.com/migrawhistle especially if you're an Oregonian.

I'll be back later with tons of gray rocking, whistle brigades, Portland Police shenanigans, the Spotify boycott and more.

Boromir: Leave it. It is over. The world of men shall fall. All will come to darkness. My city will ruin.

Aragorn: I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you I will not let the Great City fall. Nor our people fail.

I am re-watching LotR with my eldest and my youngest this week. It is always appropriate, but I am finding it particularly meaningful this time through. Not saying I would deserve to even be in a room with Aragorn, but people always ask me how I'm so positive...and it's not positivity, it's determination, I think... this line...it's very much my mindset right now.

Apologies on the delay with videos this morning. I am stuck somewhere with abysmal signal and making progress on my sweater (vest? I can't decide which yet). I have three vids in queue that will be publishing as soon as I get a better signal.

I also wanted to give folks in Oregon a heads up:
Rep. Maxine Dexter and Sec of State Tobias Read have a joint telephone town hall this evening at 5:45pm Pacific. You can listen here dexter.house.gov/live

I need some advice. Timothy Snyder is coming to Portland this month. There are a few tickets left.

If you were me, would you pony up $80 to go, or is that $$ better spent on a stop-the-bleed kit for ICE protest medics? Or donated to a food bank? I'm trying to decide if I will get enough out of going to justify the cost. Or is it more responsible to utilize those funds elsewhere? I can't make up my mind.
