New video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYCL1... - is up on YouTube that looks at the work of the super talented DP Shabier Kirchner.

The top frame is from 'Past Lives' which I'm keen to check out once it hits the cinema in South Africa. Also can't wait to see 'Oppenheimer' in Imax.

There's also a new early-access video available now on the In Depth Cine Patreon.

'Drummies' - a documentary that I shot for director Jessie Zinn - is currently available to be viewed on The New Yorker: www.newyorker.com/culture/the-new-yorker-documenta…

So, for Sunday's video I thought I'd sit down with Jessie to get some of her insights on the process of making a short documentary and chat about the making of Drummies.

If you'd like to view the YouTube video early or watch the full interview with Jessie it's up now on the Master Patreon tier. Otherwise, go check out the film and stay posted for the YouTube video on Sunday!

In tomorrow’s video I go over the workflow of how film is shot in the digital era - from choosing a film stock in pre-production to how it is dealt with in post. You can find it now, along with another early-access video, on Patreon: www.patreon.com/indepthcine

This week's video is up for early access on Patreon. It features footage from one of my favourite films that I've watched this year, Paul Schrader's The Card Counter.

With the impending release of Last Night In Soho, I thought I'd make a video on a cinematographer who some of you have requested. Chung-hoon Chung is a master of shooting horror and thriller films and a frequent collaborator with director Park Chan-wook.

The video is up now for early access on Patreon and will go live on YouTube this weekend.

Tomorrow's episode is on a cinematographer who I once had the pleasure of camera assisting: Jeff Cronenweth. What's you favourite movie that he's shot? Stay tuned for the release or sign up to Patreon Early Access if you'd like to view this and other videos before their YouTube release.

For the 200K subscriber special instead of looking at examples of great filmmaking (as I usually so) I thought I'd look at the making of a film which is often considered to be the worst of all time. If you haven't watched The Room before I highly recommend it - well, if you enjoy cringe. The video will release this Sunday and, as always, is also available for early access on Patreon.
